Surely the NOLA police realize that this is very bad for business and tourism. So hopefully when they identify the individuals involved, they will go “old school” on them.
Though it is pretended away, an awful lot of public violence in the US in the past was prevented by police coming down hard on villains, by other than judicial means.
The illusion that the courts, jail and prison are always the preferred way of dealing with such scum, is more fantasy than reality. Sometimes it’s just necessary that the police “take out the trash”, as long as they do so discreetly.
