"There's a sense of betrayal. I just don't like the fact that anybody who is privy to a private conversation in the Oval Office
goes and repeats in public a private conversation that he heard," Ari Fleischer, former White House spokesman for George W. Bush, told Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV.

So, according to Ari, no matter how disingenuous, corrupt or dishonest an administration is, members of the admin should never tell the American people the truth? That is why I have no respect for this Administration or government in general, including Republicans.
Betraying the traitors. This sh*t is getting really weird. Marxist police states really suck.
Haven't you figured out that Washington D.C. is filled with @ssholes who have no sense of propriety, honesty, loyalty, etc. in their lives?
I read somewhere that Robert Gates paid a team of lawyers around $60,000 to go through all of the legal requirements of getting vetted for the Defense Secretary post. Anyone who thinks he spent $60,000 of his own money to qualify (without any certainty of success) for a cabinet position that pays a salary of about $190,000/year is delusional. He invested $60,000 of his own money in that effort because he went into that job for the purpose of signing a major book deal after he left.
So just who is supposed to spill the beans on a President who has betrayed his country???
Seems to me that whistle-blowers are a deterrent to corrupt, deceitful politicians who betray their own. Personally, I want every low-life, scheming politician walking around in Washington mortified that someone just might tell the whole truth about them. Shining a light of full disclosure is a very, very good thing.
Republicans still fail to realize that we are facing evil, and Republicans still desperately want to believe that Obama/Democrats are good.
The Stupid party continues to play checkers while Democrats steal our lunch money, our rights, and our heritage, and play chess.
Ari Fleisher needs to wake the heck up.
Is there be ANY Democrat who would EVER express any similar concern if this occurred with George Bush?
GOPe = Democrat
Thanks, Ari.
Personal loyalty to Marxists should always trump informing the public that we are in grave trouble in our foreign policy, and with our allies and enemies alike. We should deny our decline, ignore our peril, and never expose treachery and incompetence in the Oval Office. Especially against our beleaguered, betrayed military.
Just, thanks, Ari, old boy. /snark
The people who should feel betrayed are those sent into harm's way on a mission not supported by the CIC. If Gates had any integrity, he would have divulged this much sooner--especially prior to the 2012 elections.
Fleischer and the rest of the political class are despicable and deserve our scorn. It is always about them.
Makes you wonder how many Million Ari made on insider trading on info. He saw while in the back rooms of Foggy Bottom or traded out his access for a plush patronage job when he left.
Go away Ari, you’re so Clinton/Obama like
Obadiah gets it, Too bad the well educated fools still DO NOT OR WILL NOT get the danger, both imminent and ongoing of this administration, which I consider the REAL Insane Clowne Posse. I used a new spelling of clown, so not to rip off that other group. Tom Clancy meets Felinni meets John Waters, is what we have right now.
Krap on this “... private conversation in the Oval Office.” This is a bogus claim! It is only private if that person ever expects to have a conversation with the Won again. IF the Won, or whomever, writes a memoirs/book in the future that includes his conversations with aides, Cabinet members or normal people he will do it!
I was always taught that our allegience was to the Constitution, not to the person holding any particular office.
I don’t care if Gates BOUGHT his position in person and directly from Mooshill, I am grateful for what and whom he has exposed. He has the cred, by virtue of his experience under two presidents from two different parties, and can not be blown off on the merits.
Small potato charges, gossip and innuendo will never cut it.
That is true. Same principle applies: I want them to fear and actually expect exposure. Better sooner than later, but better late than never.
Well, Ari has a point, if Gates were just chatting about what Obama or Hillary said about inanities. But from what I understand, Gates was talking about how Obama and Hillary LIED to the American people about important issues and situations. THAT is the betrayal, not Gates letting US know about it.
Ari seems to possess something that GWBush had/has - an EXCESSIVE sense of the importance of loyalty, above other considerations, to their mutal detriment.
I dont think you have any concept of Gates earning power, even if he had just stayed at A&M. As for the book deal, it is nothing like what Ike got for writing his memoirs.
They know they’re facing evil, they just embrace it as much as Democrats do. Inside-the-beltway Republicans love and admire Obama, and count HIllary, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid as their heroes. They only pretend to be “conservative” to “fool the rubes” at home.
