We were flat out wrong."
Thats the message Cracker Barrel is sending to enraged customers after the restaurant chain removed Duck Dynasty items from its stores over fears it might offend people.
Our intent was to avoid offending but thats just what weve done, Cracker Barrel said in a statement posted on its Facebook page. You told us we made a mistake. And, you werent shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings.
One of those customers was Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. He said his family has eaten in nearly every Cracker Barrel in the country.
Cracker Barrel must be off their rocker, he said in a statement to Fox News. For Cracker Barrel to take the bait of an organization like GLAAD, which has led the attack on Phil Robertson, they are betraying the values of the vast majority of their customers.

I’ve always loved Cracker Barrel, but, as I informed them in an email, I’m done with them. This knee-jerk PC B.S. is getting really old and I’m so pissed I could spit nails!
What kind of business “person” runs that chain, anyway? It’s like Remington, Benelli or Winchester jumping into the fray on the LGBT side! Do they think for a moment that members of the gay community will turn out in droves to sample their haute cuisine? As I told them in the closing of my email, “I’m sure members of the LGBT community will make up for the loss of all the offensive Christian conservatives like myself who have patronized your restaurants for years.”
CB also needs to be made an example. Their must be sensitivity training of all management to Christians done in a real, non-condescending, snarky way. Financial support given to Christian groups that perform conversion therapy of homosexuals. (I know it will never happen) This is what liberals expect when consveratives are forced to apologize, so turnabout is fair play. They should also have to make PSA saying hating on Christians is wrong. That would make a whole bunch of other companies think before siding with the deviants.
And FYI:
Sandra B. Cochran
Title: President and Chief Executive Officer
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Sandy Cochran is responsible for providing the vision and strategic direction of the company.
Sandy joined Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 2009 and was named President and Chief Operating Officer in November 2010. She became President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2011. Sandy brings more than 25 years of executive experience to her role, including five years as Chief Executive Officer of Books-A-Million, the third largest bookstore chain in the U.S.
Sandy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University. Following graduation from Vanderbilt Sandy joined the U.S. Army and served with the 9th Infantry Division.
we’ll see if cracker barrel makes things right. just bunch of words at this point.
Ironically enough, Phil Robertson said it best himself:
“Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone else’s lifestyle you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.”

Lots of posts but there are the ones that have done a good job of articulating, JMHO, why CB and a decision not go to back until some more substantial action to recant their previous action is important.
RinaseaofDs
All they had to do regarding this situation is what they were doing the day before Phil said what he said.

The apology doesnt change the fact that their first impulse was to stand with the queers. I can find someplace else to eat.
crusadersoldier
Obviously by Cracker Barrels initial reaction some people are more equal then others.
DeaconRed
Yes they blew it big time by jumping the gun. They cow towed to the Queers throwing us Christians under the Bus.
Betty Jane
We need to treat them like liberals treat us. They must apologize and fire the decision makers. They must send all their management and office personnel to Christian Sensitivity classes. They must do Christian outreach by donating tons of money to Christian advocacy groups on the behalf of all Christians. Then we can consider them repented.

But they miscalculated. We saw right through them. A lot of people will return. I wont. Its my little way of sending a message. We dont do chains except Cracker Barrel. Its where we eat whenever we leave town to visit the grandkids in Chicago. Well be doing Subway or bringing food from here on out. It probably wont touch CB, but Ill have a clear conscience.

Apology Accepted... but for being soo !!STUPID!!, and playing the game of politics (horribly I might ad) my family and I will not be eating there...
They couldn’t see what would happen? How can someone that blindly stupid and completly unable to understand the values of their customers actually be in the business and make a profit? I am almost irreversibly stuned!
Kind of like the NRA taking picture of guns out of their magazines because Bloomberg is offended.
Once someone has chosen the other side, you will insure that they have absolutely no incentive nor any ability to rejoin your side.
No, your way let's them keep making stupid mistakes, and the only punishment, if noticed, is to apologize. Then everybody kisses and makes up. No harm, no foul to them or their bottom line. What did that show them? Nothing.
We want a change in the corporate culture, starting at the top, so that other diversity idiots at other companies think before they try something like this.
I hate to say this, because I’m usually a “forgive & forget” kind of person when the other party has admitted their mistake, BUT...
If they side with GLAAD (or equally as disgusting organizations) it’s time to burn these companies’ crops to the ground, plow salt into their fields, and string barb wire around their farms.
Screw’em if they apologise. Let’em know it’s now an “all in” game. You surrender to the 2%...you will lose 100%. You get one chance. Choose wisely as there’s no coming back..
Now we're talking...
And you are bucking the cross work of Christ when you do.
Sometimes people have to be allowed to make mistakes to see what they are in danger of, and yet not hauled over the coals for it.
The trouble is that you want to make it about you... that you are the “forgive and forget person.”
How about God? How about Christ?
“Moovova”... for the LORD.
We’re talking rebellion against the work of Christ which looks really strange to the world.
Their punishment was an abrupt drop in sales.
Your reward for them seeing the light is a permanent drop in sales.
Do you still punish your children for things they do after they’ve ‘fessed up, apologized, and made an effort to make it right?
How may years do you punish a 4 year old for spilling milk?
Does that change if they apologize, wipe it up and vow to be more careful in the future?
No?
REALLLLLLY sucks to be your kid...
Thank you.
In other words, “evil” please ask of Heaven, “Who knows what GOOD.”
Satan wants you to mutually destroy one another. Leave any chastisement of Cracker Barrel to God. There may be none or much less than you would want. That is God’s domain.
JC Penny
Yeah you did Cracker Barrel. And as far as I'm concerned, and as a former and regular customer, FOREVER!
We have Christ knocking on our very door and people are still talking like that. It is sad. There is an optimum approach, which must keep God’s work constantly in mind, and to try to make humans bear what Christ did is not godly. It is to exercise self-pride or, perhaps worse, to PROMOTE self-pride.
Watch, Errant, for the spiritual blowback to you which will result.
Or, YOU could repent.
