Ryan provides background on budget deal.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
...and now the hook comes from behind the curtain and drags this guy off the stage.

Yeah...riiiiight. ..
Sorry Ryan. People don't trust you or your colleagues anymore.
Ryan really damaged his stock in 2013. He decided to do the bidding for Boehner and company rather than pushing them for a better strategy. I think Ryan is all around a good ally, but now seriously hurting himself and the country with is capitulation. He’s made a number of suspect votes overtime on big issues like TARP, but I can understand the urgency of those situations, especially when his own party is in the White House and the Fed Chair and Sec of Treasury provide the options they did. That said, it’s all adding up to a big problem right now, and my trust is eroded significantly.
“Apparently, Ryan knew the mistake was in the legislation for at least two full days before the House vote. He has not, however, provided any explanation for why he did nothing to fix it.”
Told you that POS is not to be trusted.
Representative Ryan: “Then they get the benefits recalculated when they turn 62, to make sure that they got back what they had lost.”
No. They don’t get back what they lost. The lost retired pay is gone for good. What they get back is a cost of living adjustment so their pension payments are back to what they would have been, but the pay that was lost in the interim is gone.
***He has not, however, provided any explanation for why he did nothing to fix it.***
No explanation would suffice. It’s the soldier that’s given you and Murry the freedom to acquire wealth and power.
With few exceptions, the whole lot of you are reprehensible.
This deal is great. It has taken another RINO out of the running.
Looks like Ryan has the script perfected.
“Pauly and Patty sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
First comes their bank accounts!
Then comes the Democrat base!
Then comes the disabled Veteran with no legs.”
Forget Phil Robertson. The Dead Duck of this week is Paul Ryan.
You can never trust a TARPer.
Does the plan change the traditional retirement formulary (20 years at 50% base pay)? Does it advocate reducing existing retirement benefits? Does it advocate reducing future retiree benefits? Does it reduce COLA payments for all retirees?
Ryan never served in military so it is not surprising that he cuts military benefits to make a budget happen.
The B.S. about fixing it later is not a given, however, this provision will be enacted in 2015 as a given.
I find it surprising that America’s opinion of veterans are extremely high, and as I understand it, typically the highest and respected of all occupations in the nation, and this bean-counter president wanna-be from a Congress who’s approval ratings are at an all-time low, wants to hurt them. Veterans called upon, without whining, to fight our wars, and then get this in return.
The insanity in Congress continues, along with he conservative talking heads yap yap yaping, and no one does anything except crows to a handpicked crowd to get more campaign donations: “See? See? Look what I did!”
The States need to bunker down and weather this nightmare.
Where is there a George Washington or a Ronald Reagan that actually inspires a nation?
The rest of these delusional, Cult-of-Personalities are just Student Council reps. on steroids.
He thinks it was a mistake because people are ticked off about it. Otherwise he would have been fine with it. Ryan has gone so far off the Res he probably won’t even be able to raise enough money to run for President in 2016.
If Ryan didn't know that veterans were screwed in his compromise, he's an idiot. If he did know, he's an unprincipled SOB. Either way, I hope he's through.
Ryans a liar. Last weeks tune was way different than this weeks tune.
What a evil human Ryan is.
Allow me be clear Mr. Ryan:
NO MILITARY person currently serving, nor already retired, should have their pensions robbed like this - but especially disabled retirees and disabled veterans.
If this COLA adjustment was across the board for ALL - including Social Security and Social Security Disability recipients, it could be argued that the country was engaging in shared sacrifice. But it wasn't in this bastardized "deal." Military on active duty and retired military were clearly singled out.
All to "save" $6 Billion......over ten years! Our Federal government spends $10.46 Billion per day.
"This would not affect service members who retired because of disability or injury, the original document read, a copy of which was obtained by Breitbart News. But Ryans office soon learned that claim was not true, so it scrubbed the document to remove the false statement and published a new version of it with accurate information. Ryans spokesman Will Allison also admitted that the actions Ryan took to scrub the document to remove that false claim were done two days before the House voted on the bill. However, when asked repeatedly whether Ryan ever actually informed House members of the revisions he made to the budget document, Allison would not answer.
This is incredibly damning for Ryan, and also for Cantor and Boehner, who clearly also knew that disabled veterans were getting screwed. Yet they jammed this vote through.
The GOP is going to lose House seats over this debacle before this is all over.
When they need to do is eliminate this pension theft of the military as soon as they return. The longer this festers, the more damage will be done politically. This is one of the biggest political foul ups and miscalculations in US history.
