Tea Party steps up war of words against Boehner over budget vote
Fox News ^ | December 14, 2013

Tea party activists are pushing back hard against Speaker John Boehner for attacking conservative groups that are opposed to bipartisan budget legislation approved this week by the House, claiming he has “declared war on the Tea Party” with his blunt criticism.

In a fundraising email to supporters, Tea Party Patriots referred to the Ohio Republican as a “ruling class politician” who only pretends to be a conservative while remaining a “tax-and-spend liberal,” The Hill reported Friday.

The group, which supported efforts to defund the Affordable Care Act, accused Boehner of passing a “back-room budget deal which increases discretionary spending, does nothing to reform entitlements, and fully funds ObamaCare.”

The organization called the deal “an out and out betrayal of the American people.” …

For what it is worth: The Republicans are fighting over the principles of what they stand for. Meanwhile, the Democrats and the mainstream media are collecting soundbites to use to create their "narrative" to use against conservatives.

The Democrat/Media machine never sleeps. They are always distorting, lying, spinning and shaping the next news cycle.

Our real enemy is the media.

The guy is older than I am! I’ve said on the Georgia Forum that I am through with good ole boys, myself.

He grew up as a Democrat and became a Republican in the 80s, and frankly that isn’t a pedigree for what I think we need. I want a younger, leaner family man with children that are still exposed to the ills of our education system, the future heavy debt these lawmakers put on them, and the constant demoralization of our country. I want them to have a dire, vested interest in correcting this. As far as I’m concerned, these good ole boys are just in it for themselves (ala Chambliss and Isakson).

Collins? He was my one term Congressman due to redistricting. My other reps were Tom Graves and Nathan Deal before him. I’ve written to Collins several times. I told him there are two things he needs to do to keep my vote: 1) NO AMNESTY for illegal aliens, and 2) NO deficit spending. He violated the second one with his recent vote. As I recently told him, I’ll not be voting for him again.

The TEA Party was defeated politically, but the Fiscal Math lives on. This fact will never be defeated until entitlement spending is reformed. Our day of reckoning with our irresponsible spending is coming. This is simply reality...regardless of what the Dems, Obama, Reid, or Boehner say.

Boehnor is no different now than in the last election. Almost all of the GOP House members ended up voting him. The few that didn’t were spanked and sent on their way.

It is naive at best to expect the vote will be significantly different. All these guys are blowhards. They say what you want to hear, then slink off and do what they want to do.

Save this post....Boehnor will be re-elected as Speaker if he wants the job.

Life is full of choices indeed.

I am in the same boat in re deal/graves.

FWIW Collins is just the person you describe ...younger family man w/ children. I wonder how that squares with vested interest? Not questioning you I’m just wondering what he saw in the budget that made him vote for it. Too bad we can’t just ask him. Letters are lame. I prefer face to face conversations with those who expect to earn my vote.

“I don’t care about keeping the majority in the House, or winning the Senate if it means we keep dishonorable people like this up there. Never again.”

The trouble is our view of what’s going on is clouded by being on the outside of a complicated game. Politicians trade their votes like gamblers. They try to amass votes for issues they want to pass while exchanging heir yes vote to issues they’d like to fail in exchange. That’s how the game is played. So, from the outside we don’t know what they really want. (If they have any guiding philosophy other than staying in office, that is.)

Only over time and many issues does a pattern that we can read emerge. How many times did he vote for something we don’t like that failed versus how many times he voted for something we’d like that passed?

Of course he may be speaker again. I don’t think I said otherwise - if I did it was an error.

I’ll say this - the more tea that is elected in the house, the less likely another Boehner speakership.

“......you have to be an ‘activist’ to want smaller govt, lower taxes, restrained spending, and fiscal responsibility in govt.”....

Guess then I’m an “activist” even though my screen name is “Progov” (how I got that name I’ll never know). I have no problem with a SMALL and HONEST gubmint as we do need some degree of “organization” but what we have today is outragous to say the least. Slim it down and clean it up!!!

Yes, I realized that about Collins, and he failed greatly in my opinion.

I just cannot understand a man that goes against his constituents who would support him to the hilt for following through on his promises and opts to align himself with the likes of Boehner, John Lewis, and Hank Johnson

Let me add one more comment: Many of us on FR (the writer included) tend to get caught up in issues of truth and fact. Because we value truth we focus on truth.

The Democrats and their mainstream media focus on "perspective" and what they call the "narrative". They blow by the facts and truth and work to create a story favorable to their side. They focus on the big picture while we get caught up in the details.

Sadly, most people vote based on the general perspective the Democrat/Media presents. They don't and won't take the time to understand the issues and the details. The average voter is too lazy to dig through the details to understand what is at stake. They vote based on the "narrative" and we lose.

By the way, this is why Democrats hate Limbaugh and Drudge (among others). Limbaugh presents a "narrative" from the conservative side. Drudge provides perspective by the way he aggregates news articles on his website. Drudge's "flashbacks" are very effective in showing the hypocrisy of the leftist media.

A complicated game. Yes, a game of lies, deceit and maneuvering coupled with predetermined “Show Votes” for the idiots back home who are easy to fool. Isakson and Chambliss have played this game for years.

I’m done with it. I won’t vote for Isakson, nor will I vote for the Chambliss/GOP selected candidate to replace Chambliss.

The so true saying about power corrupts is so true. We are too far down the road, but we need term limits. It seems that very few people we send to D.C. are able to withstand the lure and stay true to why they went and to who they represent.

I think our forefathers never intended for us to be represented by people who made a living at politics, who spent their whole lives there. A political ruling class.

I’d like to be a fly on the wall in the Senate Cloakroom, or the House Gym or any of the back rooms where these traitors have their off-the-record conversations.

My guess is the word “fools,” “cattle,” and “mindless sheep” are said often.

I agree. But I also feel that the person uttering those words wasn’t always that way. They were probably starry eyed at some point in their life. D.C. is a spiritually corrupt region.
