The guy is older than I am! I’ve said on the Georgia Forum that I am through with good ole boys, myself.
He grew up as a Democrat and became a Republican in the 80s, and frankly that isn’t a pedigree for what I think we need. I want a younger, leaner family man with children that are still exposed to the ills of our education system, the future heavy debt these lawmakers put on them, and the constant demoralization of our country. I want them to have a dire, vested interest in correcting this. As far as I’m concerned, these good ole boys are just in it for themselves (ala Chambliss and Isakson).
Collins? He was my one term Congressman due to redistricting. My other reps were Tom Graves and Nathan Deal before him. I’ve written to Collins several times. I told him there are two things he needs to do to keep my vote: 1) NO AMNESTY for illegal aliens, and 2) NO deficit spending. He violated the second one with his recent vote. As I recently told him, I’ll not be voting for him again.
Life is full of choices indeed.
I am in the same boat in re deal/graves.
FWIW Collins is just the person you describe ...younger family man w/ children. I wonder how that squares with vested interest? Not questioning you I’m just wondering what he saw in the budget that made him vote for it. Too bad we can’t just ask him. Letters are lame. I prefer face to face conversations with those who expect to earn my vote.
