The controversial discovery of 68 million-year-old soft tissue from the bones of a Tyrannosaurus rex finally has a physical explanation. According to newly published research, iron in the dinosaur's body preserved the tissue before it could decay.
The research, headed by Mary Schweitzer, a molecular paleontologist at North Carolina State University, explains how proteins and possibly even DNA can survive for millennia. Schweitzer and her colleagues first raised this question in 2005, when they found the seemingly impossible: soft tissue preserved inside the leg of an adolescent T. rex unearthed in Montana.

Some of the responses in this thread simply make me want to cry.. no wonder we are losing.
Because no one would be interested in researching giant creatures that lived a few thousand years ago!?!
Major logic fail!!!
You've got it. Set the bait out and wait, see if any suckers bite.
One would hope but, alas, such thinking does exist.
WOW, Thought the first soft tissue would be from the woolly mammoth
Depending on your perspective, that could mean different things. Care to elaborate a little?
Ok, but just a little. I have found that engaging the willfully ignorant (Left and Right) is fruitless.
Lets just say that your posts do not make me cry.
I am not a troll for posting what is both my Christian faith and what I know to be scientifically factual.
There are no scientific facts that prove that dinosaurs lived 100 million years ago and there is much evidence that dinosaurs lived alongside man. See other posts about cave drawings of dinosaurs.

Interesting. I note that that you do not claim dinos coexisting with man to be a scientific fact, only stating that “much evidence” exists that they did.
Of course, the only “evidence” you have brought to the discussion relates to the displays at the Creation Museum. And I’m sorry, that’s just not evidence.

The question is: "Where was Helen Thomas?"
She was lizarding it around, of course!
We see a space ship.
The artist and his contemporary viewers saw a hole in the floor of heaven, with angels and saints peering down on the terrestrial plain as if from a balcony in the sky, with a beam of heavenly light pouring through to bless John the Baptist and Jesus.
Except no, they didn't. Fortunately for us that believe the bible, it's not necessary in order for the bible to still be true.
Yes, actually, it is an assumption. You make the assumption that it rained last night when you see that the grass is wet. That may or may not be true. If true that does not make it something other than an assumption. An assumption is an assumption whether supported by facts or not.
If they are decedent then they are dead. They might be descendants from their forebears, though.
“Do you think all these people who have actually seen pterodactyls are making it all up?”
Do you know how many people actually claim to see black panthers (melanistic mountain lions)?

FRiends, this is not a troll-attack, it's just a convention of young-earth anti-evolutionists.
And they are brought here by the very significant point of the above article: yes, there is an natural scientific explanation for that dino soft-tissue, tissue which has been a major piece of the anti-evolutionists' arguments.
So, they are here to deny or explain-away the scientists' conclusions.
And they have been posting on Free Republic probably since the beginning, certainly as long as I've been here. The new ones are likely just youngsters, fresh out of school, eager to argue the points they were taught.
And here is the most important point to remember: they are our friends and political allies, our neighbors & relations and as such we should keep in mind some rules:
For those who are worried that some Christians might give Free Republic a bad name... well... hmmmmmmm.... might be time to relax and consider: if this is as "crazy" as "crazy" can get on our side, then just think about some of the stark-raving lunatics on the liberal/progressive side of things.
Our side has all the good people!
FWIW...
I consider crocs and alligators throw backs to the DINO age, so we do live together. Sort of...
