Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, Americans all over the country are enrolling in affordable health coverage. Many were unable to get insurance before and many others are signing up for new plans that offer better coverage than what they had before, often at lower costs.
Here are some of the stories being reported around the country.
Butch Matthews, a 61-year-old former small business owner from Little Rock, Arkansas, learned he will be able to buy a better plan that saves him nearly $13,000 ayear. [ThinkProgress, 10/2/13]
Rakesh Rikhi of San Jose, California, pays $950 a month to insure himself, his wife and two children with Kaiser. Through CoveredCalifornia, his states marketplace, hell be able to get a similar Kaiser plan that saves his family $400 a month. [NBC Bay Area, 10/12/13].
Lela Petersen of Flagler, Colorado and her husband Mike have kept the same policy since 1992 because they have pre-existing conditions that likely wouldnt have been covered if they switched to a new plan. In the marketplace, she could shop for plans without worrying about being rejected or charged more because of pre-existing conditions, but found the exact same policy from the same insurer for $1,100 a month less. [NPR, 11/5/13]
Joann Boblick of Western Springs, Illinois is working to help others get sign up for insurance through the Affordable Care Act. She also used the online marketplace to get her own coverage a plan that will save her $155 a month compared to her current plan and offers the same doctors, dentists and hospitals she has now. [Chicago Sun Times, 11/16/13]
Phil Sherburne of Salt Lake City, Utah used the online marketplace to compare 38 plans for his family of 5 and apply for tax credits that would bring down his monthly costs. He chose a plan that retails for about $850 a month, but will cost the Sherburnes just $123 with tax credits. [Salt Lake Tribune, 10/10/13]
Hahahaha, More Weasel words “former Small business owner” will save $13,000 a year. I call Bull $hit a thousand times over. Nice going Obamabots, one successful story after another of folks whom won't pay a dime towards their own health care. Where is the web site telling us about the 5 million healthy 20 somethings whom have signed up to pay for all the bottom feeders?
Its probably true...she had a pre-existing condition, which the insurance justifiably charged more to cover against.
Now they can’t.
Guess who gets to pay for her additional risk now? You and me.
Actually, talk radio in Phoenix was reporting this morning that the ration is 40:1! 40 people lose their coverage for every successful signup. And some of those signing up may have been folks forced from their prior coverage!
Totally
Nothing But Propaganda
Tried Zabasearch on the names, didn’t come up
“he will be able to buy...”
“hell be able to get...”
“she could shop for plans...”
“is working to help others get sign up...”
Thanx, White Hut. More hypotheticals posing as success stories. And the dollars collected to date are?
The issue isn’t people getting insured if that’s what they want. The issue is that it’s forced insurance.
Sort of like a stool sample.
Covered in snake oil spill.
These people are getting tax credits. They could have offered tax incentives to people that needed it without screwing up everyone’s insurance.

Better, in that while the deductible went up to 30,000 dollars, he gets free pregnancy check-ups and sex-change counseling!
LOL! Thank you Megan. Your “healthcare” fiasco could use some more jokes like this.
BS. If this were true, they would be citing numbers and real data.
Obama needs to have a cell next to Kevin Trudeau.
No....really comrades.......it’s free. And of course, there will be more people looking for healthcare because, well, why not? What else do they have to do? So, you’ll wait longer to see medical personnel who are angry. It’s going to be great!
A lot more are getting uncovered, but they are the racists who pay taxes so it’s OK.
I overheard a clerk at my company today say that over 500 million people had signed up for 0bamacare. I asked were they Americans. She said yes. I said what is the population of the US. She said around 700 million. I wish I was making this up. But I’m not.
