President Barack Obama told his enthusiastic supporters Monday night that he never promised what video recordings show him promising at least 29 times.
The videos show Obama promising 300 million Americans that “if you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan, period.”

I’ll bet he’ll come back saying that his guarantee applies only to those health care plans that meet the ACA criteria. So if you’re one of the fortunate ones holding an “ACA-approved HC plan” you’re golden. Otherwise, ESAD.
Obama is a narcissist and a patholgical liar.
He believes that whatever he says right now, in the moment, is the truth and that it does not matteer to him, and should not matter to us, whatever he has said, done, promised, etc. in the past.
He is an absolute tyrant waiting to happen...and it is happening right before our eyes.

The funny thing is, even as he was saying this, over and over again, people were saying that it was what he had to say to overcome Obamacare’s “Harry and Louise” problem.
Remember that Hillarycare was defeated because opponents pointed out that people were going to lose their existing health insurance, and nobody was willing to take that risk on an unproven system. So to overcome that problem, Obama simply promised that people would be able to keep their doctors and health plans. Otherwise, nobody is willing to take the chance.
Which leaves open two possibilities:
1. Obamacare was crafted to preserve existing health care plans for those who wanted them, so Obama was able to speak the truth when he made these promises, or
2. Obamacare was designed to obliterate the private market but Obama made the promises anyway, because without reassuring people, Obamacare was a political non-starter.
Taking the former approach would have prevented the government takeover of the system and would have left far too much power in the hands of the consumer. People would not be forced to subsidize the currently uninsured, so the whole system would collapse.
So Obama took the latter approach. And there are those on the Left who will forgive it, because he was just saying what had to be said to make Obamacare happen. The fact that it was a lie is irrelevant, because it was a necessary lie.
