Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren't any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.
A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.
But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they've been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

Damn right he wants to escalate. He is also doing his best to create panic over anything he can. Economy, markets, security... anything he can do to create the impression that only the government and more power by his government in particular can protect the fools that will believe that.
obastard is guilty of Sedition, the very act he would like to charge any of us who challenge him with. Be careful of it. Find me the man and I will find the crime or charge for him.
In law, sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority to tend toward insurrection against the established order.
For his next act oblowhard intends to further trash the Constitution by using clause 4 of the 14th Amendment to ignore the debt ceiling set by Congress.
The Amendment was made, foolishly I think, to state that the debts of the Confederacy and the losses for slaves woudl not be paid by the Treasury. They could have left out the bit about “validity of the public debt of the United States...” It is the “authorized by law” part that leaves determination and authorization of the debt in the hands of Congress so far as I cam concerned.
oblowhard is going to use the terms “Appropriation” and “Authorization” to justify his SupraConstitutional and illegal actions. Congress “Authorizes” action and “Appropriates” money. oblowhard will stipulate that the authorization requires him to spend money and that it is Congress fault that he does not have the Authorization to spend and so he is bound by law to unilaterally raise the debt ceiling and spend money to save the nation from economic ruin evident in the panic he is now working so hard to create. If allowed to use this logic he can extend the Authorization actions by Congress to unilaterally taxing, spending and law making. He has already done this with the EPA.
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Section 2. Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the Executive and Judicial officers of a State, or the members of the Legislature thereof, is denied to any of the male inhabitants of such State, being twenty-one years of age, and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such State.
Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Now that I think back, I’m pretty sure I donated to that memorial, too. A lot of people did. What’s the administration going to do? Round up WWII vets for trespassing on something We the People paid for?
I predict that by Monday the wires will be replaced with chains and padlocks.
No matter how bad the economy, or how short the budget, despots can ALWAYS find money to hire new guards.
Do we know how many Park Rangers are being paid to keep the WWII vets away? I’m willing to get arrested pushing past one of them...if thousands of us push,,they have to step aside.

I was just there less than 2 weeks ago....it's a serene, uncomplicated memorial dedicated to our greatest generation during World War 11.
Peaceful, serene....walking around at leisure but profound in the engravings, quotes of Eisenhower and generals about heroic sacrifice.
It is an awesome place of reverence and emotion....knowing men, like my father, was part of this....at age 19, in the China/Burma/India campaign.
My neighbor across the street is in his 90's and proudly flew to DC recently on one of the 'honor flights'....
If the administration has so little regard for those elderly warriors who defended us and our nation.....they have no regard for anyone!
The memorial was funded ENTIRELY by private donations, and is maintained by a trust fund created from private donations.
