For many years, those of us in the Arctic have been fighting the wood stove ban. The use of PM2.5 particulates has been an issue pursued by local agencies as a way to swipe at those who choose to live beyond the borders of traditional civilization. That attack has now extended to the rest of the United States.
In a stunning move, the Environmental Protection Agency decided to ban most of the operational wood stoves in the U.S.
In those places where there is you, God, and nature, the wood stove has represented that one thing that can sustain. Going after local PM2.5 particulates has been one of many methods to attack those who choose to live independent of government. As Off Grid and American Prepper survival report reveals:
The EPAs new environmental regulations reduce the amount of airborne fine-particle matter from 15 micrograms to 12 micrograms per cubic meter of air.
This means that most wood burning stoves would now fall into a class that would deemed unacceptable under these new draconian measures. The EPA has even launched a nifty new website called Burn Wise to try to sway public opinion.
On their site, while trying to convince people to get rid of their old stoves and buy the new EPA-certified stoves, they state that these older stove must be scrapped and cannot be resold.

This has gotta be right out of the Agenda-21/ICLEI playbook. Gotta get people into the cities where they can be warmed by government, and leave the wilderness to the spotted owls.
In related news, the EPA has had to cut its operating staff by 90% thanks to Republicans. I’ll be sure to laugh about that this week when I’m sipping brandy next to my woodburner.
Suburban demonrats who haven’t a clue.
I have an idea. Ban Greek yogurt and lipstick. Find some way to accuse those things of contributing to AGW
Bureaucrats ought to be banned from creating law.
I can’t say what the solution is .... not what I think the solution is .... but what it is.
The EPA apparently does not care about grid-down scenarios, in which woodstoves would come in handy in the wintertime.
Free Trade works!!! /s
Majority of your Eco Wackos are also the most extreme Free Trade Communists...beginning with Al Gore...
I guess they haven’t heard of the build it yourself HAHSA.
Instead of wood, I have 2 full copies of the ACA and related regulations. Burning those in my wood stove should get me through the ice age.
So to make a “dirty bomb” to render DC uninhabitable, you don’t need uranium, just fifty pounds of coal?
OK.
Betcha anything the Burning Man Festival somehow finds itself exempt..
” Wood Stove Ban Made Universal”

Does that mean no wood burning anywhere in the universe? haha.
In Tennessee it was all I used. Will fireplaces be outlawed?
I am not worried. I now live in the tropics. Wood burning is only to cook fish on the beach.
First, they came for the people with woodstoves.
I did not speak up, because I lived in the tropics . . .
It will only get worse, won’t it?
It is not inconceivable that congress will punt more and more of its constitutional lawmaking duties to untouchable bureaucrats, to the point that they make all of the rules we live under.
What to do?
This regulations practically SCREAMS to be disobeyed!
PING!
The EPA’s new anti-smoking law for smokers and non-smokers alike . . .
Environ-MENTAL Nanny State PING!

If wood burning was outlawed where I live, most of the population would die. Wood is the standard fuel for cooking.
I do, however, have a propane cooker for our own use.
