A 30-year-old woman gunned down her rival at a West Side gas station last month after the pair got into a fight on Facebook, Cook County prosecutors said Thursday.
Khalila Southall, who fled to Rochester, Minn., following the Aug. 26 shooting, allegedly admitted to Chicago Police that she and Lakeisha Tate had a previous argument on the social media site and “did not like each other.”
Before she was killed, Tate, 28, made a purchase and was walking out of the gas station in the 3300 block of West Harrison when she was confronted by Southall in a red dress, Assistant State’s Attorney Joe Crocker said.
The two started fighting on the ground at the entryway to the gas station store when Southall pulled out a gun and shot Tate in the leg and torso, Crocker said.

Actually, there is one other element to the story...disrespect by one to the other, and likely vice-versa.
This is the ‘rage’ now...once you do some disrespect, there’s nothing better to fix the situation than a gun or knife fight.
I don’t know where this started....but I would imagine at least three thousand folks a year....die via “disrespect”. The death certificate may not say that...but it might as well be that. Strange world that we have evolved into. Course, in the 1790s...if you got into disrespect...you had a pistol duel out in some cowfield, and your buddies toted the dead guy to a proper burial.

BTW, not to make light of the tragedy, but with an aggravated battery conviction, I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess that she doesn’t legally own the .25 pistol she used to murder the other woman. So much for gun control, Rahm-bo.
Sound like it’s about time for some common sense facebook control like universal background checks for users and limiting facebook pages to no mre than seven friends.
Before I read the article I knew something about the perps. There are only two groups that are full of anger and hate, and act on it at the slightest provocation.
When I read that it was women, that eliminated one of the victim groups.
The article confirmed my suspicions.
