I will repeat the question I made on this subject earlier today:

What is the issue those who dropped out, had with the GOP?

Were they (legitimately) saying the GOP was too much like the Democrats?

What was their basis for leaving?

Thanks.

I wish folks would learn the difference between "loose" and "lose".

It's not that difficult.

It's not your fault, lowbridge, it's the original article.

Just for personal piece of mind, I’d really like to leave the Republicrat Party.

However, I’m not going to give them the satisfaction—despite open primaries in my state for all offices, the presidency is the exception and those primaries are closed.

I refuse to let the elite wing of GOP anger me to the point of where I can no longer participate in primary elections.

So, I guess my advice would be not to allow the RINOS to tempt you into changing your party registration-especially if your state has closed primaries. Conservatives *have* to participate in the primary process if we have any hope .

we can no longer associate ourselves with a political party that goes out of its way to continually restrict our freedoms and liberties as well as reaching deeper and deeper into our wallets.

Someone is confused.

My,Oh My.I’m actually impressed with that letter to the Maine GOP.

Now if a lot more Republicans do the same thing,Just maybe the Republican Party and the Speaker of the House will wake up and start fighting this dictator who’s trying to bankrupt us while at the same time strip away or Constitutional Rights.

People send folks to Washington DC to fight the other party, not join it!

We send them to fight FOR us and our issues, not AGAINST them and us.

Most have been pretending that the GOP is the opposition since Bush the elder was elected and began dismantling the Reagan Revolution and legacy.

That's worked well, hasn't it?

Sarcasm aside, lying to oneself and others, the basic tenants of the marxist progressive demonrats and french rino GOPe, usually gets the predictable results and we're ninety percent of the way there.

I quote:
"For much of the 20th century, Republicans operated as a minority in the U.S. House and Senate. The party's leaders took the approach that, instead of trying to obstruct the majority, the party would try to water down, cut back or reshape the Democrats' proposals into less obnoxious or more favorable bills." This is the reason the Republicans stopped being my party of choice. No guts and no firm beliefs. No defending the constitution. The party of compromise.

Today, obstruction rather than compromise is more likely the order of the day in Congress. No change is generally better for tea party backers than another law, which might expand government somehow, as Obamacare has done.

Lord, I HOPE that wasn’t the headline! If it was, some editor needs to be FIRED. The word in this case is LOSES, not looses!

"...looses 13 key members"

Really? This is what passes for journalism and editor's acceptance these days? Where were they "loosed" to, and why were they tied up to begin with?

Stopped reading right there. Not your fault, lowbridge, just not interested in finding out why Big Rachel J thinks she should be writing about anything.

I left the GOP years ago. In summary, I vote like this:

I will NEVER vote for a Democrat or a Libertarian. I vote for those who among other things are at least pro-life, pro gun rights and fiscally conservative.

There are not many people who get on the ballot that satisfy all of my requirements.

I stopped going straight GOP on the ballot when I saw how badly they used the new Republicans elected on the 1994 ballot. They rode into power on their coattails and did....... virtually nothing to set big government back, and continue down that path.

This article, although not written well, does actually show that the thirteen citizens had guts. They may be late in getting to the truth, but they did.

Isn’t it a pity that we don’t have an established alternative party for them to flee toward, such as the Constitution Keepers party or the Palin Party?
