At age 80, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, leader of the Supreme Court's liberal wing, says she is in excellent health, even lifting weights despite having cracked a pair of ribs again, and plans to stay several more years on the bench.

In a Reuters interview late on Tuesday, she vowed to resist any pressure to retire that might come from liberals who want to ensure that Democratic President Barack Obama can pick her successor before the November 2016 presidential election.

She will wait for the results of the 2016 election. If a Democrat wins, she will stay on. If a Republican wins, she will retire immediately so that 0bama can appoint her successor.

It would be near impossible for a lame duck president (especially one coming off a party defeat) to ram a SC nominee through confirmation.

They would need a solid filibuster-proof majority and iron clad will from a party that just got smacked in the presidential election.

Self-preservation (and only that) would prevent senators in swing states from spitting in the eye of the electorate.

We can count on Sen. Mitch McConnell to stop any confirmation process...

A lot of liberal Jews would not be bothered by such an eventuality.

Perhaps she's not as doctrinaire Leftist as we think.

Let’s feed her all sorts of fatty foods, sugar and other bad stuff and hope that *God* sees to her retirement. Not that she *believes* in God,of course.

She should turn further right, in that case, instead of undermining herself in that respect. She claims to be healthy enough, after all. But she was not a dissenter in the last two liberal decisions . . .

I’ll take my chances and play the actuarial lotto on this one. One thing is sure, if she goes in the next 3 years, an equal or worse lib will be put there.

The America you are imagining is in the process of being dismantled and will not exist twenty years from now, so you need not put a twenty year limit upon the results of amnesty/open borders/North American Union/global new world order.

There’s at least a chance we could win the presidency in the 2016 election - that’s the huge difference.

“We” as in a conservative or a RINO? The latter would not put his/her foot down over a “Borking”.

Obama could channel the ghost of Leon Trotsky and still wouldn’t be able to touch the old ACLU hag for dedication to the cause. What’s the big deal? They don’t come any far left that Ruth Bader G.
