In light of today's SCOTUS ruling I am now wondering which will come first:
Lexington and Concord or Ft. Sumter
It damned sure won’t be Lexington or Concord....
Neither.
THAT is the big question - most of us here have pondered that - and "they" gotta know it's on our (Patriots) minds.
Maybe the better question is: "what do THEY think the trigger will be"?
None of the above. The answer is Ruby Ridge.
Unlike 1776, today's America is a democracy (sort of). People get to vote, and they get what they vote for. Obama did not inherit his office. He is in office because he had the votes.
And unlike 1861, today's America has a powerful federal government, and weak state governments. Most people are okay with that, and don't care much when the federal government interferes with the states.
So there will be no successful popular uprising. Constitutionalists will win at the ballot box, or not at all.
Let us hope that the people enact a repeat of the Boston Tea Party first. That's the next logical step.
We're talking civil disobedience, folks. It's our last chance before we run out of options to stop the madness. I don't think any of us wants to see the last 'box' opened, but that's exactly where we'll be if we don't make a huge noise, and make it now.
Understand - I'm not talking riots and violence. I'm talking about disobeying Big Brother in a public way. Think back to Gandhi and MLK. Some of us are going to have to chain ourselves to the courthouse steps to make the point, while millions of others block traffic in the streets. We're passed the stage of peaceful rallies in the park.
Concur
It could be Lexington and Concord, although it could also be something else. The issue in Lexington and Concord was as move by the British to confiscate the Colonists’ firearms. It was attempted gun control that started the Revolution, and it is possible this could cause a second Revolution.
” I’m talking about disobeying Big Brother in a public way. Think back to Gandhi and MLK. Some of us are going to have to chain ourselves to the courthouse steps to make the point, while millions of others block traffic in the streets.”
That is an open invitation to slaughter at the hands of Obama’s Army. Just my $0.02
The ballot box is fubar at the federal level. Do you understand that? The system has been compromised beyond all recognition. We no longer have even the pretense of political representation.
The majority has now been effectively disenfranchised.
We'd better come to grips with that fact, and act accordingly. The next logical step is widespread civil disobedience, not a violent uprising. Think back to the Solidarity movement in Poland during the 80s. Think back to Gandhi of India, and MLK of the civil rights era. That's where we need to be at this very minute.
Harper`s Ferry is the trigger.
Henry Bowman, in “Unintended Consequences”, teaches that by the time that you KNOW it’s time for action it is probably too late.
By then, the bonds are too tight; the tools with which to defend/revolt are much more limited.
But until then, one takes the risk of jumping the gun and being labeled criminal rather than patriotic and ostracized rather than be considered heroic and/or being a clarion call to others of the same mind-set.
Each needs to know the decision point for himself/herself.
If anything it will be more like Northern Ireland was.
Civil disobedience: Colorado Magazine Swap set for July 1.
Another Boston Massacre? That would surely touch off a violent revolution, which is the last thing they want when they're out-gunned 100 to 1.
United States Code at 18 U.S.C. § 2381 "whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death..."
I don't always agree with the Supreme Court, but I think you'd do best to rethink your approach.
Cordially,
AK
Apparently the only way any state can get the respect and undivided attention of FedGov is to shell one of their forts.
Harper’s Ferry....didn’t work the the 1st time.
Sumter was about secession. L&C was about the government attacking it own citizens. We have an L&C brewing.
Good. We need more of that. Lots more of that.
