Well to be fair he has to start wasting money in this way if he really believes that global warming will leave NYC underwater in 20 years.

That would be $20 billion of other people’s money, not his.

The man is unstable.

It appears that there is no feedback or dampening mechanism to control his erratic oscillations.

Bloomberg is like Obama, stealing money from his treasury to be sent ot pals.

The action is out and out theft. Death should be his sentence for the crime

As long as it’s NY $, I don’t care. Politics is local. If, however, Bloomie expects federal $$ - he can go to hell beside Zero.

If global cooling lowers the sea level, Bloomies walls will be fully visible. Now that would be a hoot.

Somebody needs to tell this fool that NYC mayor is not a nationally elected office. He’s there to manage the city, not to try to set policy for the country. They may love him on the east coast, but he couldn’t get elected as dogcatcher her.

Nut job. I’m having coffee on my screened in porch here in Richmond. It’s 62 and sunny. Leave it alone Bloomers. Nobody’s buyin it.

The floodwalls and storm barriers are not a waste- unless there is never again a Sandy scale storm. That part is a reasonable precaution, compared to the cost of repair/rebuild should it happen again.

But anything designed to “combat” so-called climate change is a total waste.

Why doesn’t NYC just turn off the heat in the winter? It will save the city money, and cut down on global warming. Kills two birds with one stone!

Bloomberg is a nut case for sure, and I don’t think mythical climate change has anything to do with it, but protecting the NYC subway system including lower Manhattan around the Battery and Wall Street from flooding and storms like Sandy is probably not a bad idea.

In the not-so-distant future....when it is all said and done, and this climate change hoax is revealed and proven for what it really is.....it will be interesting to see the total dollar amount that has been squandered. Interesting, but sad.

So much else could be done with this money that would benefit people and it is being squandered. It is pure folly, and Bloomberg cannot see it. Along with everything else, he is a fool for being on the wrong side of this issue.

The sweeping plan includes 250 recommendations, ranging from installing floodwalls and storm barriers to upgrades of power and telecommunications infrastructures.

Hmmmm, why does that idea seem familiar to me?

If Bloombutt wants to build a monument to leftist foolishness, let him. Build it big. Make it grand, and let it glorify the utter stupidity that is anthropogenic climate change.

Sandy proved some of the walls are necessary. They had flooding in some of the subways due to tide surges. We know that most cities like New York have some very old power grids that need updating. All or most of this work could be needed. They can pretend they saving the while making needed improvements, well, Let’s just say bless their little hearts.

Why not go ahead and start getting ready for the sun to burn out while they’re at it? It IS going to happen. Better to start be safe than sorry and start preparing now before it’s too late.
