The floodwalls and storm barriers are not a waste- unless there is never again a Sandy scale storm. That part is a reasonable precaution, compared to the cost of repair/rebuild should it happen again.
But anything designed to “combat” so-called climate change is a total waste.
Agreed - he’s doing the right thing (preparing the city for a serious hurricane) for the wrong reason (global warming).
