Sandy proved some of the walls are necessary. They had flooding in some of the subways due to tide surges. We know that most cities like New York have some very old power grids that need updating. All or most of this work could be needed. They can pretend they saving the while making needed improvements, well, Let’s just say bless their little hearts.

After rebuilding 1,500 feet of washed out tracks, replacing miles of signal, power, and communications wiring, and restoring flooded stations, subway service was restored to the Rockaways seven months after the storm.
