CNNs Drew Griffin broke into Wolf Blitzers Newsroom report Wednesday afternoon to reveal new information about the investigation into the IRS admission that they targeted conservatives during the 2012 election year.
Griffin said a Congressional source told him that the acting commissioner of the IRS, Steven Miller, has identified two rogue employees in the agencys Cincinnati office, who he characterized as off the reservation. The commissioner reportedly said the two, as yet unnamed, employees were principally responsible for overly aggressive handling of Tea Party requests for tax exempt status over the past two years. Another source, according to Griffin, said that Miller confirmed that two employees have already been disciplined.
I suspect a lot of Republicans, especially, but there are a bunch of Democrats outraged by this as well, Blitzer said, are going to suggest this may just be the tip of the iceberg, if you will. Theyre going to want to see who else could be implicated in this.

There is no such thing as rogue operatives in the federal government. Even the most trivial of memos is reviewed ad nauesaum by layer after layer of the bureaucracy. The chain of command is rigidely inforced.
The vast majority of federal employees are in government service because they like the structure and job security. They don’t go off the reservation. Period. This direction came from upper layers. The only question is how high did it go.
TWO people did all this?? TWO people?? Sure. Right. Very believable. I mean, I believe it, don’t ya’ll??
I think this “Cincinnati” business is misleading some people. Isn’t that a major IRS office? Also I heard that one person was reviewing all conservative applications, later expanded to “several” people.
So these two “rogue” people cornered the IRS market on conservative applications, and no one noticed?
Sure, they didn’t notice it was taking conservative groups 27 months to get approved.
He did not care when it favored him but now he cares after winning? He had this one chance to come clean instead he claims “unaware”. What is next???.... “I am not a crook”.
aka Two employees to get Swiss Bank accounts.
who signed the IRS requests - I betcha it was more than just two names. I heard there were 500 companies - how many agents sent out requests?
It might be the unit supervisors giving the instructions to the agents. I don’t know how many agents each unit head supervises.
At a minimum I hope they go to jail. I hope they get sued personally. I hope the are disbarred from any federal government contract.
Sure. Just 2 rogues. They will be sacrificed like lambs, and when the heat’s off, given cushy jobs compliments of the democrat party.
The irs will be good for a few months, then go back to being the instrument of a fascist dictatorship.

BOVINE SCATOLOGY! Sorry for shouting but this isn’t even bullish!t, it’s horse sh!t. Blame the lower level staffers and avoid the blame further up the chain.
Bette Midler is a rouge agent, I bet!
Absolutely no one I talk to will buy this crapola!!
As far as I know he has been president since 2008. He wanted re-election so it didn’t matter to him that the IRS was punishing the Tea Party, he wanted them stopped and they did it for him.
He just came on tv saying how outraged he is and it will be investigated and dealt with. He is going to throw people under the bus now because he got his re-election and doesn’t need them anymore.
A. Bulls#it.
B. This is a trial balloon to see how it polls to pin the blame on 2 underlings
3. A CNN Exclusive = “Made Up out of Thin Air”
4. All the above
Well that’s a relief. At least his scandals are not anything like Bush’
Pray for America to Wake Up
You are right! Any manager worth his salt would check on department performance including volume, back logs, quality of work and conformance to standards. They would know what their people are doing. No one runs a "rogue" operation of this magnitude without the approval or a wink from higher up.
I sure hope those low level rogue employees were able to forward e-mails to their personal accounts before they were disciplined, so they could provide documentation that they were following orders from higher ups.
That reminds me of a retired Air Force Sergeant I once worked with. He always amazed me with his constant printing of e-mails that he received.
I asked him why he did it, he said that he learned the hard way that e-mails can just disappear when the “brass” wants them to. It’s a lot harder to make hard-copy disappear especially if they don’t know you have it.
Yes, but the American people are known to fall for cover-ups time immemorial.
The American people can’t wake up; they have a vested interest in everything obama.
And their supervisors were like WWE referees and “powerless to stop it.”
Do they think everyone is as dumb as a Democrat?

********
This is true — even for the worst of managers in the federal government. Managers don’t tolerate their subordinates doing anything that could come back to bite them. The managers may not know what they themselves are doing, but they ALWAYS know what their people are doing.
