Following the Boston Marathon bombing last Monday in which pressure cookers were used for the explosion, the cookware giant has decided to temporarily stop selling the items in their Massachusetts stores.
Williams-Sonoma, the specialty retailer of home furnishings and gourmet cookware with over 250 stores in the United States, has pulled pressure cookers from their shelves following the Boston Marathon bombing.
"It's a temporary thing out of respect," said Kent, who is the Store Manager of the Williams-Sonoma at the Natick Mall. He referred Patch to corporate for further questions. Williams-Sonoma also has a local branch at Legacy Place in Dedham.
Pressure cookers will still be available on the Williams-Sonoma website.

It's OK, cutting off the head is an old muslim tradition.
hmmm “the ability to offend someone”
Here’s a wild guess... muslims.
If we were less worried about offending people ( gays, liberals, etc) we wouldn’t be our current mess
Islam is a religion of war, unless we speak this loudly and often we are cooked. Pun intended.
Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad.
: )
I just taught myself how to can a couple of weeks ago! Rats, I’m always the last one on the bandwagon and now I’ll have to go get a canning licence and get registered before I can make any more peach preserves.
people should be offended by how much they charge for everything. how do they stay in business?
I’m planning to weaponize a couple dozen cans of salsa in the fall.
Pathetic and stupid response.......we just can’t take a chance on offending anyone’s senses.......SHeeesh Amerika - GET OVER IT!!!
In other news, J.C. Penny’s removed semi-automatic underwear from its shelves.
Home Depot smelted all its box-cutters and reformed them into a statue of Che Guevara.
Sears was considering eliminating assault shoes from its lineup.
A Footlocker spokesbabe stated that, “We can’t afford to get rid of assault shoes. That’s all we sell!”
The reason that they are apparently popular in Afghanistan and the like is that everyone cooks with them, so the sight of a pressure cooker in the car is not suspicious.
I’m thinking dual purpose.
Not “tri-purpose”, mind you.
I plan on keeping mine intact.
We really need to ban all high capacity backpacks.
lets not forget white hats
Now that’s just plain stoopit.
Why not pull ammonia and bleach as well????
We need to address this “pressure cooker loophole” in Congress.
get rid of these cookers and they’ll use other kind of devices, the left and PC re slowly , well quicker under Obama is destroying the west and will kill us all.
No terrorist is going to buy one there - WS is a high end seller. I used to buy things from them before the internet came about to give me more choices. Haven't bought anything from them in years.
Terrorists would buy them from Walmart. Walmart should take note of anyone buying a pressure cooker.
I've got a pressure cooker and if I didn't I'd buy one before they are banned or the govn. starts tracking down anyone who buys one.
If that is an iron skillet, its days are numbered because it can kill a person if hit in the head with it. I don't know why you would want such a dangerous item in your house. A light weight aluminum one is all you need. I should turn you in if the skillet is iron.
Pressure cooker on head of Muslim. That’s so funny, I laughted out loud and startled my Yorkie who is lying on my recliner chair with her head on my ankles.
