Romney: ‘It kills me’ not to be in White House
yahoo ^ | march 3, 2013 | Dylan Stableford

Mitt Romney says it "kills" him that he's not president. But he doesn't blame Superstorm Sandy, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie or anything else on his loss to President Barack Obama--except his campaign's failure to connect with minority voters.

“I lost my election because of my campaign," Romney said on "Fox News Sunday" in his first television interview since his November defeat, "not because of what anyone else did."

The former Massachusetts governor refused place blame on Christie, who some Republicans say elevated Obama in his embrace of the president in the wake of the storm.

Romney said his inability to win over black and Hispanic voters--and the damage done by those disastrous "47 percent" comments--ultimately derailed his White House bid.

Ann Romney, though, pointed the finger at the fourth estate. “It was not just the campaign’s fault," Ann Romney said. "I believe it was the media's fault as well, in that he was not being given a fair shake--that people weren’t allowed to really see him for who he was. ... I’m happy to blame the media.”

She added: “I totally believe at this moment, if Mitt were there in the office, that we would not be facing sequestration right now."

Romney: ‘It kills me’ not to be in White House

Romney at best was a highly divisive candidate who never stood a chance at uniting the conservative base that drives victory for any republican presidential candidate.

Forget that "little thing" and lose every.single.time.

I for one would have liked romney over obama.

Romney would have run policy from the left, but he would not have been a total national socialist clusterf*.

Now we're stuck in a perpetual state of economic "duck and cover".

Go base yourself.

You be sure to send me a post card when you're put on a 6 month long waiting list for heart surgery...just like they do in Canada.Osama is on *record*,I'm sure you know,as saying that CanadaCare is his ultimate goal for this country. And I'm sure you *also* know that Barney Fa...sorry,Frank...is on record as admitting that OsamaObamaCare is Step #1 toward CanadaCare.

I don't know about you but I'm a lot,*lot* closer to the grave than to the cradle so any suffering I do as the result of Osama Obama's Maoist Presidency will only represent a small portion of my life.

Whether Romney or Obama, we would have a horrible liberal President. What a dismal choice in 2012 for everyone. Pinching the nose once again.....I say hopefully 2016, we have a better choice, but I think are chances of that are low.

So “the base” decided that it wanted a President who'd be wrong *all* of the time instead of,perhaps,20% (or maybe even 50%)of the time.Brilliant move,”base”.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Unfortunately the 20% is on the issues most important to to genuinely conservative voters, including most important, social issues such as abortion and the homosexual agenda. My tagline is true. Conservatism wins. Anything less is just a slow walk to a place not worth living in anyway.

That is because he thought he had the election in the bag. He was convinced he was President even on Tuesday. The guy is an arrogant jerk.

Actually, Mitt, blacks and hispanics don't win you the presidency. Conservatism does. The "47% comments" were the smartest thing you've ever said.

Are you serious? Though he didn't mean it that way, what Romney said was interpreted as class politics. It painted him into the picture the Democrats framed of an aloof, uncaring rich guy.

Some conservative voters assumed Romney wasn't for them and didn't go to the polls. Call them Huckabee voters. I don't know how many of them there were, but the reaction of some of them was to assume Romney was talking about those who had less money than he did.

That may have been the wrong interpretation and the wrong reaction, but it was to be expected. That's why candidates don't talk that way when they know the cameras are on them. The upscale voters who'd gone for Obama in 2008 that Romney counted on winning based on his economic abilities and their economic interest didn't go for him either, so he lost.

People did refuse to vote for Romney, 2008 was an election that republicans could not win, but 2012 was an election that the republicans could not lose, yet while Jimmy Carter the second was losing millions of voters, Romney couldn’t even increase the 2008 republican vote by a million.

Romney was so mushy and weak and such a bizarre, freakish character, that he just couldn’t get people to vote for him.

From Mitt's own mouth to Chris Wallace

Just listen to Mitt say, "I've spent my whole life helping people..ALL people". Does he really believe this?

Mitt's elitist grandiosity is disgusting in this interview. Quote: "Can you imagine anything more fantastic than being able to run for president of the United States"?

Yeah Mitt, after you demonize every single opponent and then step on your pecker time after time...but you got to RUN for president.

What’s stupid about 47% will never vote for him? The fact that he said it?

Oh, and for all those who spent four years proclaiming Romney so darned “electable” (who, oh-so-coincidentally were labeling Palin “damaged goods” and spreading smears starting the very day after the 2008 election), you got exactly what you wanted. You got your Massachusetts liberal. You got the very words “tea party” outlawed from the RNC convention. You got exactly what you wanted. And you can all go choke to death for all I care.

Mr. Etch A Sketch screwed up an election that was the Republicants to lose.

He waged his best fight against his conservative rivals in the primaries.

Perhaps the so called minority he failed to capture was the TEA Party he ignored from the very start, although I suspect, in the end, many of those patriots came through for him like we did.

All I know, is that you can't run for CIC and ignore the story of the day and that story was Benghazi!

He couldn't even come up with a winning slogan like, say, "Nixon's the One!". I had one for him but he wouldn't use it:

Mitt Is It!

Romney would have won if he would have gone after Obama as being a failure and pointed out all he failures. There are so many.

I’m not going to argue with you on the social positions. You are right that he fip-flopped as he was the governor of the People’s Republic of Massachusetts.

However. applying the flip-flop tag on his business history with respect to understanding how to create jobs, grow small business, rein in debt, encourage and promote policies that grow the economy does not sell with me. I say that after having opposed Romney in the primaries. My support and contributions were with Gingrich. Romney is a real capitalist businessman and we would be far, far better off with him over the socialist who is working hard to destroy us.

You will have my agreement that Romney was unacceptable on social policy, no question. You will never have my agreement that there was not a dime’s worth of difference between Romney and Obama on the economic policies that are the lifeblood of our country. Without a strong economy and states’ rights balance the country falls and all the social policies you talked about really are meaningless as we fight for our lives first.

“And as a voting block FR is so tiny it’s irrelevant...”

Irrelevancy is in the eye of the beholder, and in the sum-total of the stay at homes. I do agree with you that many said they would and did not (stay at Home).

Perhaps the larger stay at home group were the Christians who would not vote for a Mormon.

On the other hand, I know a few really liberal types who stayed home because they would not vote for the Bummer, but would also not vote for a Republican.
