Obama gave his chief counterterrorism advisor, John Brennan, who is now the nominee to be the next leader of the CIA, a blank check. Brennan could do just about whatever he needed to do in North Africa and the Mideast, contend Murphy and Webb. Brennan chose to conduct a dangerous classified war without looping in Stevens, who paid with his life for his ignorance, according to the book.
The Joint Special Operations Command, which Brennan controls, is a collection of special forces outside of the regular military command originally formed as a hostage-rescue team. But in the middle of last summer, say Murphy and Webb, troops operating clandestinely under JSOC began infiltrating Libya.
With the first phase of the Global War on Terror (GWOT) all but over, say Murphy and Webb, JSOC was starting in on GWOT Season 2, as it were, where North Africa was seen as the most dangerous hub of terrorist activity.
Murphy and Webb go on to make a shocking charge: The nature of these operations remains highly classified. They were never intended to be known to anyone outside a very small circle in the Special Operations community and within Obamas National Security Council. Ambassador Stevens, the CIA chief of station in Tripoli and then-director of the CIA, Gen. [David] Petraeus, had little if any knowledge about these JSOC missions.

And if Brennan becomes DCI, he will be able to clear the path for his Joint Special Operations Command and their private war to shape the Middle East to Obama's liking.
This will give Obama the opportunity to manipulate the ME so as to bring about his Caliphate.
Not saying he's the AC, but Obama is making all the right moves. For those of you who have exclaimed "he's to dumb to be the AC"...you might want to reconsider!
I want to know why none of those 20-30 have spoken with anyone, or even been identified. Or have I missed something?
So, a lot like the drone program, we have teams of spec-ops warriors who are working without any oversight by the military which means there is no oversight by Congress.
I'm all for killing terrorists but what's the next step?
I have no idea why some think these were Americans. Likely they were foreign nationals whose lives (and families’ lives) would be endangered by knowledge that they worked for America.
But it’s still a good question not asked by anyone in the MSM.
Sigonella NAS in Sicily was on stand-by.
Sigonella is only 470 miles from the compound in Benghazi...and they were on stand-by with jets and C-130's. Even the C-130 could have made the trip in a little over an hour. An F-18 could have made a visit in under a half an hour.
Just a show of force--a sonic boom--would have given our men an edge
I don't think so.
Hillary Clinton is THE original source of the 'video did it' excuse for Benghazi, Cairo and all the rest of the embassy riots around the world. Hillary did it!
US Embassy in Cairo quietly deletes its we stand by our condemnation tweet; Update: More deleted tweets!
Here is Hillary pushing it again on Sept. 13th.
Clinton: Anti-Islam Video 'Disgusting' (video 2:56)
Here is a 'senior administration official' trying to distance 0bamugabe from Hillary's f-up and at the same time admitting by inference that she was the source of the 'video did it' meme.
Senior administration official: The Cairo embassys statement does not reflect the view of the U.S. government; Update: Romney calls embassy statement disgracefulposted at 10:34 pm on September 11, 2012 by Allahpundit
The White House is disavowing a statement from their own Cairo embassy that apologized for anti-Muslim activity in the United States.
The statement by Embassy Cairo was not cleared by Washington and does not reflect the views of the United States government, a senior administration official told POLITICO
Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a Tuesday statement.
And here 0bamugabe and Hillary work together to try to prop up her 'video did it' nonsense and spread it even further.

Nope, she never said anything about a 'video.'

For the most part, the MSM is owned by the enemy. Why would they ask a question that would damage their interests?
I am astonished that sentient freepers are still incredulous about the behavior of the so-called MSM.
Obama has not only divided the electorate...he has also divided our military and intel assets.
I can’t find my link to it now but early on there was an article about a special team from Germany that was moved to Sigonella ready and raring to go. As Travis McGee posted, they have teams who practice regularly for hostage/embassy rescue missions and they’ve been doing that for decades.
That was under the Africom commander, Carter F Ham, who has been relieved of duty (though we are unsure of the exact details of his "early" removal). Africom (U.S Africa Command) is headquartered in Stuttgart.
Something isnt adding up here, first phone call to Washington from the Tactical Operations Center, at the top of the incident, approximately 9:42, as noted below in Background Briefing. Do Panetta Gen. Martin Dempsey at 10:32 sit on this and dont react for another 28 minutes? This long of a wait, after the almost 50 minutes it takes for whoever first took a call for help? Thats about 78 minutes wasted after the first call for help, which would have been quite a specific call, as you'll see the situation the agent in the TOC(Tactical Operations Center) is in, then adding the last 30 minutes, that's 108 minutes passed...;
10:32 p.m. The Office of the Secretary Defense and the Joint Staff are notified of the attack by the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon. The information is quickly passed to Secretary Panetta and General Dempsey.
11 p.m. Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey meet with President Obama at the White House where they discuss the unfolding situation and how to respond. The meeting had been previously scheduled.
According to the timeline Panetta and Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, were told of the attack about an hour after it started, as both men were on their way to the White House for an already scheduled meeting with President Barack Obama. Thirty minutes later the president was directing the Pentagon to do all it could to assist, according to senior Pentagon officials.
Background Briefing on Libya
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2012/10/198791.htm
SENIOR STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL NUMBER ONE: ...At 9:40 p.m., the agent in the TOC and the agents in Building C hear loud noises coming from the front gate. They also hear gunfire and an explosion. The agent in the TOC looks at his cameras these are cameras that have pictures of the perimeter and the camera on the main gate reveals a large number of people a large number of men, armed men, flowing into the compound.
...that agent from the top of this incident, or the very beginning of this incident, has been on the phone. He had called the quick reaction security team, he had called the Libyan authorities, he had called the Embassy in Tripoli, and he had called Washington. He had them all going to ask for help. And he remained in the TOC.(Tactical Operations Center)
(more on the TOC )...The Tactical Operations Center, which is just across the way from Building B, has offices and a bedroom. Thats where the security officers had their main setup, thats where the security cameras are, a lot of the phones its basically their operations center. So Ill call it the TOC from now on.
A few minutes later were talking about 9 oclock at night the Ambassador retires to his room, the others are still at Building C, and the one agent in the TOC. At 9:40 p.m., the agent in the TOC and the agents in Building C hear loud noises coming from the front gate. They also hear gunfire and an explosion. The agent in the TOC looks at his cameras these are cameras that have pictures of the perimeter and the camera on the main gate reveals a large number of people a large number of men, armed men, flowing into the compound. One special agent immediately goes to get the Ambassador in his bedroom and gets Sean, and the three of them enter the safe haven inside the building.
...The other agents who have heard the noise in the at the front gate run to Building B or the TOC they run to both, two of them to Building B, one to the TOC to get their long guns and other kit.
...I should also have mentioned that at the very first moment when the agent in the TOC seized the people flowing through the gate, he immediately hits an alarm, and so there is a loud alarm. He gets on the public address system as well, yelling, Attack, attack. Having said that, the agents the other agents had heard the noise and were already reacting.
...Okay. So we have agents in Building C or an agent in Building C with the Ambassador and Sean, we have two agents in Building B, and we have two agents in the TOC.
...A third group of attackers tried to break into the TOC. They pound away at the door, they throw themselves at the door, they kick the door, they really treat it pretty rough; they are unable to get in, and they withdraw.
The first thing you need to do is realize that it was 3:42 PM EDST in D.C. 9:42 is the time in Benghazi Libya which is six hours earlier than in D.C.
I think you meant later, as it was evening in Benghazi. There’s still 108 minutes of accounting for, as the attackers were unable to get in the Tactical Operations Center, so the agent in the TOC surely made that call at “the very beginning of this incident” as noted above from the SENIOR STATE DEPARTMENT OFFICIAL NUMBER ONE.
Yes, of course, the Democrats (who daily wet their pants over the Contras) would nominate Brennan for CIA. Nope, this doesn’t pass the common sense test.
