IRVING, TX, February 8, 2013, (LifeSiteNews.com) – David Watkins, a former Boy Scout leader, has been charged with sodomizing a boy under 13 years of age in his troop.
The news broke on the same week as the Boys Scouts of America’s (BSA) decision on whether or not to continue their long-standing ban on homosexuals.
In the BSA, homosexual child sex abuse happens all too often. There have been over 2,000 cases of abuse.

If such crimes have already come to the light in the Boy Scouts, one must ask why the radical homosexual lobby is determined to force the BSA to allow homosexuals to infiltrate their organization.
Once again, the radicals used totalitarian means in an attempt to bully the BSA into submission.
Clearly, they are using the guise of a “victim” status to attack and undermine the moral foundations of the BSA.
It would do well for the American people to look across the border to Canada and see the disastrous consequences of such a decision.
Canadian Bishop Frederick Henry stated, “Human rights laws designed as a shield are now being used as a sword. The issue is rarely truth formation, but rather censorship, and applying a particular theology through threats, sanctions and punitive measures.”
In 1998, Canadian Scouts (CS) decided to allow females, atheists, agnostics, homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals to join the CS. In 1999, they approved the establishment of an all-homosexual troop, which now marches in Canada’s “gay pride” parades. Within five years, scouting membership dropped over 50 percent. Many scouting camps and offices were closed, and staff was laid off.
As one would expect when the doors to sinful behavior are swung open, sex abuse by leaders in scouting is another tragic consequence.
Boys who become scouts to receive a healthy, moral upbringing are instead becoming lifetime victims of criminals who prey on children.
Even worse is the lack of justice these young boys receive. Canada’s epidemic of child sex abuse is largely swept under the rug to protect pederasts.
Brian Rushfeldt, president of Canada Family Action, stated, “The notion that we need to protect homosexuals more than we need to protect children … has been a disturbing trend.”
The Scouts is not the only area affected by the radical homosexual lobby’s bully pulpit.
The education system is targeted in a large degree.
After Canada passed homosexual marriage legislation in 2005, Phil Lees of Canada’s Public Education Advocates for Christian Equity (PEACE), who spent most of his career in public education, said the same-sex marriage law had an immediate effect on Canadian schools:
“Experience shows that whenever homosexual marriage becomes law, children will be exposed to an increasingly sexualized curriculum and school environment at an early age, as early as kindergarten.”
In Canada the radicals have sought to lower the age of consent to 14 years old for anal intercourse.
America’s school curriculum is not too far behind Canada’s.
It is time to wake up, America, and heed Canada’s warnings before it’s too late.

Fine. I accept that: so let gays join the Girl Scouts.
Besides the obvious moral aspects they better think long and hard about the legal aspects and lawsuits. Can you imagine how parents will react if their kid is molested by a homo and the Boy Scout org knowingly hired him?

The whole endgame here is to destroy the scouts. The Scouts teach love of God and Country and that doesn't fit in with the left's plans. By discrediting the Scouts, that's one less way parents have to teach their boys good values.
Sexuality, of any variety, as a base for political power is a NO NO.
It should be prohibited constitutionally.
It should be illegal. Punish it by mandatory sentence as an implied violation of civil rights of The People.
The first thing the gays will demand once they get in, is to remove the “morally straight” part from the Scout Oath.

If these gays truly wanted equality, they’d go to the Girl Scouts.
But most of them probably secretly desired boys.
And that is precisely the point. Set up a molestation, get the parents to sue the organization into bankruptcy and close it down. It teaches morality and belief in God and must be destroyed.
Not very secretly. But the organization must be destroyed, even though it would mean that they no longer have access to that pool of boys to corrupt. There are tradeoffs for them here and their judgement is that stopping the teaching of morality is more important than access to a large pool of boys to corrupt.
The politics of fear again. I have many good memories of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Explorer scouts. It was Americana at it's best. Camp, the discipline, the .22 rifle at the range, cooking over the campfire and the big canoe trip up at Ely. The fact that 96% of boys will have to worry about their pup tent partner or their scoutmaster galls me. The small percentage uses thug tactics again. Whether it's unions, the gay lobby or liberals in general (20%). They have Alinsky down. Do we Alinsky right back at them? We have until May to fight this.

I think bottom line it's another orchestrated attack by the commies to decimate a healthy part of American culture. This should be as big a fight as gun control.

David Watkins was married (divorced in 2006, after his wife found out about his predilections for little boys BTW) and had two children with his wife, coached his son’s little league team.

Before I have to don my flame proof asbestos suit, the point I am trying to make here, that may be lost on some, is that these pedophiles, just as with Jerry Sandusky, were not known as being openly gay men and as far as I can tell, they didn’t even engage in homosexual sex with other adult homosexual men, didn’t frequent gay bars, march in gay pride parades, etc.; they preyed on children pure and simple, in some cases even on their own children. Sometimes their own wife didn’t know what was going on until it was too late or their wives themselves were in deep denial. That’s what a pedophile does, that’s how he operates.
As in the cases of all too many of these pedophile cases, excepting for Catholic priest pedophiles, they are often married or were married, have children of their own, outwardly appear to be fine upstanding men, leaders in their community, even church going men, didn’t come off as being “effeminate” and are probably the very last person one would expect to be a pedophile.
Is that to say I think the BSA should welcome gay scout leaders? No! Absolutely not!
Is that to say that if I had a young son, that I would be OK with my son spending time alone with an openly gay man? No! Absolutely not!
But my point is that parents should not just focus their attention on openly gay men as being a potential threat to molest their boys, but should be vigilant at all times and not be lulled into a false sense of security that just because a BSA scout leader or an athletic coach or a teacher or a minister who is not openly “gay”, one who is married and may even have children of his own, that he can be ruled out as being a pedophile. It should also be mentioned that these men in their association with the BSA, all these abuse cases took place without the BSA accepting openly gay men as scout leaders so there is a bigger problem that needs to be addressed.
So while I believe that the BSA should stand strong and not change their rules under the pressure of political correctness and the “gay lobby”, they also have to recognize, and just as with any organization dealing with children, that there needs to be more oversight, more vetting and that no adult, even one who on the surface seems trustworthy, and now days very sadly I have to say, should probably never be left alone with children in their charge. There should always be at least one other adult present at all times.
And I’m sure I’m going to get some heavy flamage for saying this; but not all homosexual men (or homosexual women) are pedophiles. I do know a few homosexuals and at least the ones I know with whom I’ve had frank discussions with about these cases, they find pedophilia to be just as abhorrent as I do and think much as I do, that the rape of a child should be a capital offense.
It should also be mentioned that not all pedophiles prey on children of the same sex. Some pedophiles prey on children of the opposite sex, some on children of both sexes. Some pedophiles have never had sexual relations with an adult of the opposite or of same sex and some have had only at least seemingly normal heterosexual relations with other adults, even only with their wife, but none the less, have a secret and deeply closeted predilection for children.
My point is that the “monster” next door may not always appear to be the obvious “monster”.
Parents should be, while not paranoid to an extreme, not frighten their children to the point that they become fearful and distrustful of any and all adults, should be ever vigilant and never let their guard down. They should be aware of changes in their children’s behavior and demeanor that could be signs of abuse, they should have age appropriate conversations with their children about “bad touching” and empower their children to be completely honest with them about all things and about any behavior by another adult that makes them feel bad or dirty or uncomfortable. They should tell their children that no adult under any circumstances should ever pressure them into to doing something they do not want to do or be told that “this” is “our secret” or that if they tell, that no one will believe them or that harm will come to their family if they tell.
As you noted: the “monster” next door may not always appear to be the obvious “monster”. The Catholic Church has had to deal with the same problem. They developed and implemented a program entitled Virtus. With this program in place, anyone who comes in contact with a child (religious, teacher, janitor, etc.) must be certified by Virtus. The process mandates being fingerprinted, a police background check and two training sessions in identifying sexual predators. The BSA would do well to either adopt this program or create one of their own.
