The fuel industry's American Petroleum Institute tested the 15 percent ethanol gas approved in 2010 and found it gums up fuel systems, prompts "check engine" lights to come on, and messes with fuel gauge readings.
"Failure of these components could result in breakdowns that leave consumers stranded on busy roads and highways," said the industry report. Worse: API said the fuel problems--not found in E5 or E10 blends--aren't always covered by auto warranties.
The industry prefers pure fuel to an ethanol mix, but the report isn't likely to slow the administrations green push

Is this what’s killing my Highlander’s oxy sensors? Originals died at about 50,000, replacements now about dead at 85,000. Doesn’t seem right????
It forces the peasants to buy new vehicles made by union thugs.
I doubt if the Highlander guys will admit that....but if they ever ask if you use E15...you’d best deny it.
I believe that all of the US car-makers will cite their case by summer, and have the stuff off the market by next winter.
They will stop you from driving one way or another...........
The left really doesn’t want the ordinary folks to have a private vehicle. They really want everyone to take the bus. If this forces normal people out of their cars, the left will be happy.
Of course, none of it applies to the ruling elite.
Any recommended fuel additives to combat this “gunk” buildup?
First they came for my small two-strokes... chain saws and weedwhackers... then they came for my small engine four-strokes... lawn mowers and outboards... all the while burning the corn we use for food... and now they want to wreck my automobile!
Tyrannical rat bastards - deny my annual tag renewal unless I can pass their emission standards, then fill gas supplies with crap that ruin the ability to pass the test!
You “think” there are NO problems with E10 garbage. Just check around any boat marina and get the truth of the vast damage done to various systems in the marine environment.
Also check the thousands of owners of snow blowers, lawn mowers and other small “gasoline” engines. The damage totals into the many millions.
The problem seems to occur in those engines that are NOT started and run each day, as is most autos. The victims of this “fuel” are those that may, and usually do, sit idle for many days at a time.
Well great! No we will be stranded along a road on a dark night without a gun to protect ourselves....
no = now
More blown-up engines - more Cash for Clunkers = more sales for Government Motors = Increased Economic Activity.
So you see, it all works for them.
What does the EPA care about costing consumers tens of billion in repairs?
"You poor, stupid, worthless suckers.
These Laws are NEVER for us, our families, or staff (or illegals)."
Check the label on the pump where normally fill up.
Yep! Knock on effect equals Progressivism.
