Only Rebellion Can Save America

The US federal government has strayed so far from the Constitution and the rule of law that it can now be considered rogue and illegitimate.

Written by Lawrence Sellin

The thoroughly irresponsible rate of government spending projected over the next twenty-five years will drive federal debt to unsustainable levels. The country is heading for a financial meltdown and economic ruin.

The Republican Party is inept and impotent and cannot provide the necessary political opposition to the crimes and unconstitutional policies of the Obama regime or stand against the rampant voter fraud which is now polluting the electoral process. There is a report claiming that the Republican Party signed a legal agreement with the Democrat Party in 1982 not to pursue suspected vote fraud. If there is no guarantee of election integrity, then elections become only window dressing for tyranny.

Barack Obama is an illegal President and unindicted felon. Congress, the American media and the courts are engaged in a criminal conspiracy to conceal their complicity in perpetrating the Obama fraud on the American people. Law enforcement and our elected officials have chosen to risk the survival of the country rather than risk the truth.

According to recent reports, Obama continues to use a Social Security Number (SSN) not issued to him, in the process, committing numerous counts of social security fraud. The SSN Obama uses, issued in Connecticut, a state where he never lived, does not pass a check with E-Verify, the electronic system the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has created to verify whether or not prospective employees have the required authorization to work legally in the United States. It appears that the SSN Obama uses, was actually issued to a Harrison J. Bounel, born in 1890. Once issued, a SSN is never reissued to another individual. Why isn’t any of that evidence investigated? It is because Barack Obama is protected by a dishonest media and criminally complicit federal officials and, unlike ordinary Americans, he is above the law.

The US no longer has representative government. Members of Congress seek election not to uphold the Constitution and serve the American people, but to obtain power and to use that power to accrue professional and financial benefits for themselves and their major supporters. All the traditional means for the American people to seek the redress of grievances have now been blocked by a corrupt government composed of a self-absorbed permanent political elite unaccountable to the people.

The status quo is no longer defensible. Unless there is a significant reversal soon, it is only a matter of time that a catastrophe will be upon us, which will inevitably lead to national collapse and fragmentation.

All unconstitutional and unlawful policies of the Obama regime must be opposed, obstructed and undermined. The Democrat Party and their radical left-wing supporters must be aggressively and continuously confronted. The Republican Party must be defunded and its leadership replaced. The purveyors of disinformation and propaganda represented by most of the mainstream media must be professionally destroyed.

A county by county battle is the means by which the American people can restore the Constitution, establish responsible fiscal policies and take back control of the political process and the government. Patriots need to organize locally outside of the party apparatus to exert political pressure and prepare for armed defense, if necessary. No county officials, in particular the Sheriff, should be elected or maintained in office, who do not fully honor their oath to support and defend the Constitution.

Fundamental to this effort are the rights guaranteed under the Second Amendment. Each county should establish elements of an organized and disciplined Constitutional Army with sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence and individual liberty from anyone who might attempt to abuse them.

It is indeed ironic that the Mexican border made maximally porous by the Obama regime may become the route of choice for weapon and ammunition resupply, a Fast and Furious in reverse, capable of making gun control about as successful as the national prohibition of alcohol (1920-33), another failed “noble experiment” undertaken to reduce crime and solve social problems.

Efforts should be directed towards decreasing the influence of the federal government in county affairs, cooperating with federal officials and agencies only when it benefits local citizens. Counties should maximize the consumption of federal resources and overburdening federal agencies administratively while at the same time reducing or delaying taxes paid to the federal government. County residents should forcefully shun, oppose or drive out of business, individuals or media outlets, which support the criminal Obama regime.

“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did, and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found out the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them; and these will continue until they are resisted with either words or blows, or with both. The limits of tyrants are prescribed by the endurance of those whom they oppress.” — Frederick Douglass, August 4, 1857.

"All goes into flux at that point and the law of in intended consequences takes over. A clearly articulated and led political alternative is needed first."

Right, because the soap box, jury box, and ballot box have worked so well up 'til now.

We have allowed this illegitimate government, which long since ceased to represent the citizens of this republic, to encroach on our liberty for far too long. It must be stopped. The plans of those in power are clear; one need only open one's eyes. They fully intend to destroy our republic, replacing it with some sort of marxist state within a larger global marxist state administered by the UN. We cannot leave this for our children. The time is now or there will be no republic to save. Our side needs to stop worrying about looking like the bad guy. It is time to act.

I am sympathetic to the urgency.
My argument is for leadership, the sort that engenders political unity. Absent this, disparate acts of resistance to the status quo are easily marginalized and then criminalized.

Certainly, but we will soon all be criminals in any case. The new law in New York is but a taste of things to come. Through the NDAA we can be arrested for any reason or no reason at all and detained incommunicado indefinitely. A criminal enterprise has replaced our government and those in it are strangling the life out of our republic. So, should we talk some more? That has worked so well up until now. It is clear that there is no leadership (nor spine) left in the Republican party, so to whom do we turn? There are leaders on our side; we have to goad them into action. Militias hold the key.

Playing nicely with the other kids does not work. We have tried to keep ourselves from stooping to the tactics used by the left. In the meantime, the left and their agenda march steadily onward.

I disagree to a point.

You had Congress abdicating their duties (see the alphabet agencies), money (Fed) with nary a word from The People.

You had the Courts rubber stamping the edicts from the same hands that feed them [one of the worst ‘overlooked’ deficiencies in the Constitution, IMHO], ‘threatened’ with packing by past administrations and, still, NO oversight from Congress; let alone usurping as the ‘final word’ on the Constitution (sorry, that belongs to We, the People).

Again, I lay quite a bit of it all on the People/States who allowed it all to go down. Where were the fights, mobs and/or court cases when the WoD/WoPoverty were started? The alphabet agencies? First gun ban?

No, those in D.C. should have been run out of town when they tried to lay a finger upon ANY of those (and more) Rights.

Nor am I advocating armed rebellion.

Will marching, protesting and demonstrations do any good when the sheer numbers we are up against seem insurmountable?

I'm not sure Liberty will survive this assault from the collectivists. With just under half the country working for the FedGovt or dependent on it, and then add 15-20+ Million in Illegals via amnesty...just WTF!?

I agree wholeheartedly with this article’s title and content.

It’s repulsive to decent and thinking Americans to watch these sycophantic morons who either support the weasel in the white hut or sit on the other side and pay lip service to conservatism.

The elite political class needs to experience a comeuppance that will shock and awe them into packing their bags and heading for the boondocks from whence they came.

The illegal phony president thingy and his 900 staffers should be kicked out of the white hut without a cent.

The Fed needs to be destroyed.

Most government offices need to be boarded up, telephones and computers ripped out of the walls and many MANY sent home to begin fending for themselves.

Capt,

That was my point, the numbers who vote are not as insurmountable...we have to pick away at them is all I was saying. Maybe I am too optimistic but I don’t just want to leave the arena to the lions.

I think I heard or read that the Canadians submitted lots of forms to register fictitious firearms, and were able to bog down their gun registration system. We might be able to do something similar here on lots of different levels if there are enough people participating.

Better send them in using the same sorta information Dims use on ficticious voter registration “drives”....

Interesting thesis on government!

I wonder if our republic would last longer if there was a hard coded limit on the ratio of representatives/citizens and if that number gets too skewed the country would HAVE to be split in half allowing the ratios to return back to a better level.

Also I think that besides constitutional amendments that any law Passed by congress should have a built in generational expiration date on it, so it would have to come back up on the floor for another vote, thus it would consume congresses time to maintain existing law and keep them from too mucgh meddling on passing new laws.

Also in terms of term limit the first election for any government position should be a simple majority any adn subsequent election should have to add 5% to each election cycle, and failing the incumbant winning this all new candidates would have to ran in a runoff which would be simple majority again.

1st election:
Cadidate Joe vs. Candidate Frank
Joe wins with 51%

2nd Election:
Candidate Joe vs. Challneger Sarah
Joe needs 56% or more to win, Joe Wins with 57%

3rd election:
Candidate Joe vs. Challenger Tina
Joe Needs 61% to win, only gets 58%
Runoff election triggered, Joe is outta there so they have to run Challenger Bill vs. Challenger Tina and whomever get a simple majority in the run off wins the seat.

Something like this in my opinion would be far more effective than any term limits as the terms would limit themselves and put the incumbents in a severe disadvantage.

Rebellion you say, but first they want to take your guns away. Those who are left to fight will be rounded up and taken to FEMA camps.

One thing to consider is when they come to take you away to a FEMA camp make sure you are “not home” even if you are on your property.

One way of doing this is to hunker down somewhere in your house and make sure it has decent IR shielding.

One thing I have heard people do is finish their atticks and add extra insulation in their attict and building a special shsided area with foil backed insulation up there which will shield IR and if the feds come a knocking you would go hide there untill they break in, search the area and then move on.

You obviously misunderestimate the American people's resolve and courage. If and when overt tyranny arrives on our doorsteps, the resulting deaths (on both sides) will be the match that lights the mother of all prairie fires across the country.

An overt act of disarmament by force against the people will be the signal that the social veneer has been dropped, and that the compact between the federal government, the states, and the people, has been abolished. It'll signal all-out war for our survival, and the people will respond in a fashion that most can scarcely imagine.

There's also the little problem with the odds of success in such an endeavor. There are approximately 100 million citizen gun owners, versus approximately 1.5 million active duty military personnel. Even if only one in ten citizens stood their ground and chose to fight back, they'd still outnumber the federal jackboots by 10 to 1.

Then there's the problem of loyalty among the troops. Do you really believe that all of them would obey an order to subjugate the American people by force? Perhaps twenty percent would obey that order, but the larger percentage would not, and would soon arrest, detain, and even execute most of the traitors to the Constitution.

Apply a little logic and reason to this question. It will never play out the way you propose.

“Nor am I advocating armed rebellion.
Will marching, protesting and demonstrations do any good when the sheer numbers we are up against seem insurmountable?”

It had to be approaching twenty years ago that I had a conversation with a friend (in the cab of a railroad locomotive, of all places).

I made the remark to him about how (in the face of a rapidly-changing world) the Amish seemed to keep things “under control” within their own culture.

He replied (to the effect), that they were able to live that way because we LET THEM live that way. Then he said, “how long do you think they would have lasted under the Nazis?”

That may or may not hold relevance when weighed against your comments above.

But it’s clear to me that our nation is beginning a slide downwards, like a train at the summit of a mountain — and all I can see at the bottom of the grade is the tyranny of a totalitarian state.

Perhaps this is inevitable.
Perhaps nothing can stop it.
But — one thing is certain:
If we insist on “acting like the Amish”, our future is sealed — we will end up on the bottom of that grade...

Let’s say we fight and win. Then what?

The fight should be against the media. Once someone starts holding the media accountable for the truth, the rest of dominoes will fall. Does that mean the killing of top media brass, news producers and news anchors? I'll answer that another day...

Biggirl: "It will break along red states/blue states lines."

Remember the original map published in USA Today was of red and blue counties that had voted for Bush or Gore. There was an important point in that map, which was that the Blues are pretty much only in the big cities.

So, I agree Red States (states that are almost all Red, and states that have GOP majorities in their government) will break in our direction. And some very blue states may break that way. But a lot of the rest of the states are really Red with big Blue urban cores in them. It's not clear how this works itself out.

Maybe the urban cores are big enough to direct the state over the will of the "red counties". Or, maybe not. If you read speculative fiction there is a lot of it that deals with the cleansing of the polluted urban cores in states like Washington and Oregon.

Even in New York you see a clear divide between the gun-grabbing libs and their patrons in metro New York and the upstate region, with it's indigineous population which is highly pro-gun.

There are several voting systems that are known to mathematicians. Your proposal is in automatic rising of the threshold for an incumbent. This indeed aids in rotation. It remains to be seen, though, whether that alone is helpful. There are many people who'd love to get their four years in corridors of power and then walk away with contacts, knowledge and personal influence. A mere replacement of one Democrat with another only replaces the one who is already sated with power with one who wants it all, all over again, anxious to grab everything that he can reach before his term is over. Another catch is that the government of this sort is bound to quickly forget its roots because there are no members left who remember the founding principles. (In essence that's the problem that the current USA is experiencing - too many citizens do not care about the ideas this country was built upon, and the hard labor that went into building it. They now want only the benefits. They'd gladly sell the land they are walking on if that buys them a new gadget.)

Of course, the current "first-past-the-post" voting system is flawed in itself because it does not promote compromises - it promotes ramming the choice of the majority down to the throat of the minority. So that would have to be the first system to improve. However it will not happen because the current government is happy with the status quo.

Aside from that, one more issue with the current setup is that once a politician is elected he is nearly invulnerable to recall. The elected President is a de-facto king of the country; he can have citizens arrested and killed without trial, he can order military into the cities (for "training", so far,) he can maintain FEMA camps, he can arm his henchmen and he can disarm the population... his power is currently unchecked within the law because the branches of power that are tasked with those checks have been brought into the fold. At the same time we see that in countries with Parliamentary systems the government rises and falls every few months, whenever the government makes a mistake that voters (and MPs) cannot forgive. Those systems are more responsive, at least.

So the problem has multiple aspects. First, you need to elect a compromise figure who is equally acceptable (and equally unacceptable) to most factions in the country. Second, you need to have a mechanism that makes sure that the elected politician stays true to his promises, and can be instantly recalled if he changes his mind.

This also highlighted another problem, this time with the country itself. After decades of careful political manipulations it split into two camps. It may well be that these two camps cannot be reconciled, especially if they are not forced to find a solution by some higher arbiter. As an example, one camp insists on their right to engage in perversions and kill babies and live off of the labor of others; can the other camp accept (and therefore validate) those activities? It may be the time for the country to split in two, if only to prove by peaceful means that one of those camps is not viable. Otherwisem as I read in some fiction books with similar plots, generally it ends up with a strong government figure making the lazy bums an offer that they cannot refuse. Undemocratic for certain.

because the assault on freedom is so much more intolerable today than it was in the 1770s. George III was a benign benefactor compared to Obama and his minions.

I am tempted to say that if we were transported back in time to the 1770s we would find the freedom there utterly breathtaking... and that most people nowadays would hate the early Constitutional America because they would think/feel that it was anarchy. (I've actually been called an anarchist because I said that I'd be rid of all federal agencies that aren't commissioned by the Constitution; this means that the federal government agencies would likely be: DOT***, USPS**, IRS*, Army**, and Navy**.)

* - collection of taxes, authorized by the constitution.
** - specifically mandated by the constitution.
*** - regulation of commerce, authorized by the constitution.
