I am tempted to say that if we were transported back in time to the 1770s we would find the freedom there utterly breathtaking... and that most people nowadays would hate the early Constitutional America because they would think/feel that it was anarchy. (I've actually been called an anarchist because I said that I'd be rid of all federal agencies that aren't commissioned by the Constitution; this means that the federal government agencies would likely be: DOT***, USPS**, IRS*, Army**, and Navy**.)
* - collection of taxes, authorized by the constitution. ** - specifically mandated by the constitution. *** - regulation of commerce, authorized by the constitution.
Remember what Thomas Jefferson said: “I much prefer dangerous freedom over safe slavery.”
