Toyland, Toyland (Toyland!)
Little girl and boy land
When you dwell within it
You are ever happy there!
Childhood Toyland
Mystical merry Toyland
Once you pass its borders
You can never return again! (not again!)
Childhood Toyland (Toyland!)
Mystical merry Toyland
Once you pass its borders
You can never return again!
#1 is #1 for me, Bing Crosby.
#23 nostalgia from childhood.
Many good ones :)
Yoko Ono!?
The radio station behind this list should be deported with Piers Morgan.
No version of “Baby. It’s Cold Outside” made this list?
Cute songs but only two or three actually have anything to do with Christ - how sad.
I tried to post something on this but got an error message so please forgive if it’s posted twice.
This is ridiculous! It’s origins are unclear but O Come, O Come Emmanuel (Latin Veni, Veni, Emmanuel) dates to the 8th century. I think that qualifies as Greatest of All (emphasis on ALL) Time. What do they teach in schools today?
Personally, I'd climb over broken glass to smash any radio playing this song. It literally puts my teeth on edge. Sorry.
“Christmas Must Be Tonight” by The Band
There might be five or ten of those I would consider listenable. The rest are ear pollution, IMHO.
Didn’t say 100 greatest Christmas CAROLS. It said 100 greatest Christmas SONGS.
I’m casting my vote for Nat King Cole as the best of them all........
As far as crappy "Christmas" songs go, though, "Run, Run Rudolph" by Chuck Berry is my favorite.
I was a little kid when that movie was playing at our local theater. I couldn't believe that Santa AND The Martians were in THE SAME MOVIE! I was not worthy!
Saw it recently on MST3K. Wow! What a mess! (Watch for Pia Zadora as one of the kids.)
My Christmas wish is to never have to hear 90% of those songs ever again, especially Little Drummer Boy by the Harry Simeone Chorale.
You mean things like O Holy Night and Silent Night aren’t Christmas songs??? I think they meant it is a list of pop songs that have Christmas in the title
carol is defined as “A carol is in modern parlance a festive song, generally religious but not necessarily connected with church worship, and often with a dance-like or popular character.”
so your take still doesn’t help
No Ave Maria, Oh Night Divine, Joy To the World...and, surprisingly, if Mariah Carey's 'All I Wantfor Cristmas Is You' is on the list then I must have missed it.
To the Revolutionary Jesus on His Birthday--a leftist view of Jesus in the style of an old Lutheran hymn, sung by the Stalinist balladeer Ernst Busch.
