The Colorado Secretary of State's Office is investigating after some Pueblo voters say voting machines switched their pick from Mitt Romney to Barack Obama.
The Pueblo County Republican Party said they've heard of more than a dozen reports of the problem.
One voter, who didn't want to use her name, told KRDO Newschannel 13 that when she hit the touchscreen for Romney, a check mark appeared next to Obama's name. She said she asked for help to fix the problem, but still feels unsure about her vote.
"I wonder where my vote really counted," she said.
...
The machine voting error is also being investigated in Mesa and Arapahoe counties and in several other states. The Republican National Committee has contacted secretaries of state in Colorado, Nevada, Ohio, North Carolina, Kansas and Missouri asking for machines to be tested before election day.

This is actually easy to do
When you start your GPS (on some models) you have to ‘calibrate’ it by touching four spots in each corner so it can read your input more accurately
All they have to do is wait for the calibratiosn screen, and then touch four pre-planned DIFFERENT spots, and the screen will shift votes to obama
This is actually easy to do”
...Great News!
Why the heck does the GOP put up with this crap?
a few old ladies who don’t know how to use touch screens and graze the wrong field with their trailing finger before hitting the correct field.
The story does not say whether the error was corrected before the vote was entered.
This is sensationalism and undermines the democratic process to suggest there is a conspiracy of any sort with absolutely no proof whatsoever.
Honestly, messing with voting machines, or vote fraud of any kind, should be met with a mandatory five year prison sentence - for the first offense. And even ‘joking’ about having voted several times should be treated like screaming fire in a theater or bomb on an airplane - NO TOLERANCE and a mandatory visit by law enforcement.
I agree, every report I’ve read sounds like touchscreen calibration error or operator error. I suspect if we trolled thru the DUmp and elsewhere we’d find stories of Obama votes being changed to Romney.
There are more important issues to waste time worrying about. This is noise until proven otherwise, and I don’t think it ever will be.
>>I agree, every report Ive read sounds like touchscreen calibration error or operator error. I suspect if we trolled thru the DUmp and elsewhere wed find stories of Obama votes being changed to Romney.
for some reason I haven’t heard about the machines changing Obama votes to Romney votes though. It’s always been the other way around and I visit both conservative and liberal websites to see what each other is saying and thinking. Haven’t heard a peep about Obama votes being changed just Romney’s.
“for some reason I havent heard about the machines changing Obama votes to Romney votes though.”
That’s what bothers me. I’ve heard at least a half dozen different reports of this kind of thing in all different parts of the country, yet it’s always in the direction of benefiting Obama rather than Romney. Admittedly, millions of votes have been cast, so if there were a widespread conspiracy, arguably there would be a torrent of such reports. Nevertheless, in a close election, not that many votes have to be stolen to make a difference. So in that context, it’s disturbing to see the persistence of reports that would favor Obama if indeed there were a systematic effort to swing the election using this approach.
Most likely this is a result of not calibrating the machines rather than someone purposely miscalibrating them. They should have a checklist for setting up each machine which includes calibration. This step is either missing from their checklist, or the poll workers are being lazy and not even looking at the checklist.
Phooey!

That said, I am NOT saying it happened here - only that it could happen.
The weakest link in this whole process is the group of individuals that set these things up. Hopefully anyone caught in deliberate shenanigans of this kind would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
My guess? If it actually happened and it wasn't human error on the voter's part, I'd bet the installers skipped the calibration step. Not a deliberate, tin-foil hat thing, just hurry-up-and-get-these-things-set-up carelessness on the installer's part.
The Republican party representatives calling for the errant voting machines to be re-calibrated is a good call, IMHO.
I wrote this off in the beginning as just a fluke, user created issue or maybe a couple of faulty touch screens... without data it is difficult to say without guessing wildly.
Problem is, it's becoming rampant and reported all over the place. If this were truly user error or machine problems, we would most likely be seeing just as many complaints from bozo voters about their vote being switched to Romney... and the noise would be 10X louder if that were the case. I've seen nothing, not one instance. I can see how the default setup of the machine may have something to do with the lop-sided error rate, but in the name of fairness the button positions should be randomized to prevent such a thing from happening in the first place.
I don't follow along with conspiracies all that often, but I'm starting to think that there just may be something going on here. After all of these years we cannot seem to produce an electronic method of voting that is reliable and secure. I find that simply appalling. Most of these things are programming 101, but we got our software from some Chinese high-school science project instead. We should be able to see the vote totals in real-time and recounts should be a thing of the past. It's getting VERY frustrating to me, it's NOT hard at all!
I can’t believe we have SEIU goons managing our voting machines.

Gross Voter Fraud is treason and should be treated as such
I agree. The punishment for treason is death. Hang em!
Make a few examples and this sh!t would end.

***
It doesn’t look like they are this time... FOR ONCE.
Having said that, it’s OUR responsibility to make sure this crap doesn’t go through. We can’t be liberals, depending on the gummint to hold our hands. We have to take matters into our own hands if we want this solved.
coinkidinky that the votes all go for bammy boy...
