a few old ladies who don’t know how to use touch screens and graze the wrong field with their trailing finger before hitting the correct field.

The story does not say whether the error was corrected before the vote was entered.

This is sensationalism and undermines the democratic process to suggest there is a conspiracy of any sort with absolutely no proof whatsoever.

I agree, every report I’ve read sounds like touchscreen calibration error or operator error. I suspect if we trolled thru the DUmp and elsewhere we’d find stories of Obama votes being changed to Romney.

There are more important issues to waste time worrying about. This is noise until proven otherwise, and I don’t think it ever will be.

Actually, it's within the realm of possibility. I install and configure touch-screen kiosks for a living. It's not that hard to deliberately mis-calibrate them.

That said, I am NOT saying it happened here - only that it could happen.

The weakest link in this whole process is the group of individuals that set these things up. Hopefully anyone caught in deliberate shenanigans of this kind would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

My guess? If it actually happened and it wasn't human error on the voter's part, I'd bet the installers skipped the calibration step. Not a deliberate, tin-foil hat thing, just hurry-up-and-get-these-things-set-up carelessness on the installer's part.

The Republican party representatives calling for the errant voting machines to be re-calibrated is a good call, IMHO.
