Two trailblazing women who became the first female participants in the notoriously brutal Marine Corps’ Infantry Officer Course have dropped out of the program, according to the Stars and Stripes.

The two female lieutenants failed to complete the combat endurance test portion of the program, as did 26 male Marines.

Lowering quals for women coming soon I bet.

Then they can announce women are equal physically.

This is the case everywhere, in sports (golf) and employment - lower the bar to make it unfair to men.

If women want to do the same job as men, they should have to meet the EXACT SAME STANDARDS.

The Standards will definitely have to be lowered for the vaginally impaired.

My son said the Quigly at Quantico was a piece of cake compared to the combat endurance test. Dehydration is what nearly broke him. He handled the physicality OK.

Only uncivilized countries send their women into combat.

Heck, if 26 Marines dropped out these two WM’s have
nothing to be ashamed of.

Ooooorah! Marines!

Yup. When women couldn’t meet the standardsat West Point, they lowered the standard.

From the article:

The Marines are keeping the identities of the two female volunteers private. However, one of the women released a statement after dropping out of the program, which reads in part:

“I want to try to open up a door, maybe, for women after me. I don’t know how far it will open, but I’m hoping to make a difference for women down the road.”

Since this woman was chosen for her extraordinary female physical condition, I opine that the door is not made to be opened by the female of the species; unless, of course, the standard is lowered to that of a 50 year-old couch-potato male.

Interesting, I would have thought that her priority would have been making a difference for her country and the Corps.

agreed, British royal marine commando’s ban women through out.

To get int eh marines the standards have been lowered and are a joke now.
Women only have to do one pull up to get in, men can do two and to finish their final test is three pull ups which are a joke, the run is down in sneakers and I forget the exact time and distance but I remember it were a joke

The marines are the best and most respected IMHO but I know from what I hav e seen that the other branches are even more of a joke and for women to think they should have the same jobs then shoudl do as you state and do the exact tests and training

I hate it when liberal women state how they should have equal rights and then want special rights and easier tests.

I served and was given one womanwhilst doing Arctic and mountain warfare training in the Arctic and trust me I wrote a report after about how she faeld and was useless and I guarantee that report was ripped up.

Homosexuals are another group which should not be allowed to serve, last year rapes on men by men jumped a lot to 19,000 sexual assaults in one year and that is just what was reported.
Notice how those rapes went up when don;t ask went away and homosexuals and cross dressers can now serve

When I was assigned to OCS 30 years ago there was a major problem with trying to fairly include the women officer candidates (WOC’s) into the overall evaluations of the candidates. Back then, I believe we only had one OCC per year with women (other than the summer programs.)

The WOC’s were in a separate platoon within a candidate company. They did not participate in all of the same physical training as the men such as the obstacle course, pull ups, 3 mile run. They also didn’t have the same objective evaluations due to differences in the field exercise evaluations. So when it came to determining the top grads in the class, it became very difficult to compare apples to apples.

As I remember it (dimly) there were 3 categories of evaluations used to determine class rank: leadership, physical fitness & academic.

Women’s evaluations were always a problem while trying to keep them somewhat in line with the men’s scores. How would it have looked if the top 5 grads of a company had all been women due to them performing so well because they had easier testing requirements on some of the separate but unequal events?

Apparently this is not the case when all Marines are tested equally as in the infantry officer course.

So what are they to do, be politically correct and lower the standards for everyone and maybe even bend the rules so the honor graduate is occasionally a woman? I hope and pray that’s not the case!

I know that Israel has women in the military. Do you know whether they serve “in combat” or not? I sincerely don’t know.

Not likely. I’ve seen women do a bayonet course. No problem there.

Most likely repetitive upper-body strength portions, like climbing.

They just recently did it for ‘the races’ in the FL schools, and that’s going to work out real well, too, as soon as it becomes national eh-duh-ka-shun policy.

I believe they do, but their situation is different, considering the entire country is close to the front lines.

Having 3 brothers close in age and having to fill in the games to make the sides “even”, I would not want me to have to defend the nation unless I was in an Iron Woman suit and had NOT had any high fructose corn syrup. As the saying goes, “A woman’s got to know her limitations.”

Here’s something to lighten the mood since we all know the danger that lowering the standards has placed on our sons and daughters being forced to serve with others who can’t cover their backs.

WE’LL FIGHT TO THE LAST 50-YEAR-OLD !

By: Jeff Ackerman [OPINION Wednesday, October 3, 2001]

A couple of weeks ago I indicated that if I could, I’d enlist today and help my country track down those responsible for killing thousands of innocent people in New York City and Washington, D.C. But I’m 50 now and the Armed Forces says I’m too old to track down terrorists. You can’t be older than 35 to join the Army.

They’ve got the whole thing backwards. Instead of sending 18-year-olds off to the fight, they ought to take us old guys. You shouldn’t be able to join until you’re at least 35-years-old.

For starters: Researchers say 18-year-olds think about sex every 10-seconds. Old guys think about sex every 15-seconds, leaving us more than 28,000 additional seconds per day to concentrate on the enemy. Young guys haven’t lived long enough to be cranky and grumpy. A cranky and grumpy soldier is a dangerous soldier. If we can’t kill the enemy we’ll complain them into submission or surrender. “My back hurts!” “I’m hungry!” “Where’s the remote control?”

An 18-year-old hasn’t had a legal bottle of beer yet, and you shouldn’t go to war until you’re at least old enough to legally drink beer. An average old guy, on the other hand, has probably consumed at least 126,000 gallons of beer by the time he’s 35, and a jaunt through the desert heat with a backpack on and an M-60 over your shoulder would do wonders for a beer belly.

An 18-year-old doesn’t like to get up before 10 a.m. Old guys get up early just to show we can [and to steal the neighbors newspaper.] If old guys got captured we couldn’t spill the beans because we’d probably forget where we put them. In fact, name, rank and serial number would be a real brain teaser. If it wasn’t for the age barrier, I’d pretty much be able to get into the Army without a hitch. According to the Army Internet site, I’d need to pass an entrance exam [officially called an ASVAB], but the simple questions I saw weren’t exactly headache material. For example:

A magnet will attract:

(a) water
(b) a flower
© a cloth rag
(d) a nail

I took a wild stab at it and guessed, “nail,” knowing they’d probably stick me in some desk job with Army Intelligence after Boot Camp.

If 12 workers are needed to run 4 machines, how many workers are needed to run 20 machines?

(a) 16
(b) 18
© 3
(d) 60

Well, let’s see now…..three workers per machine times 20 machines….err….60?

Finally, they wanted to know if I had command of the English language, just in case I had to describe an enemy camp from memory.

Now you know where the first questions come from for the “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” game show. Boot Camp would actually be easier for old guys.

We’re used to getting screamed and yelled at, and we actually like soft food. We’ve also developed a deep appreciation for guns and rifles. We like them almost better than naps. The Army could lighten up on the obstacle course, however. I’ve been to the desert and didn’t see a single 20-foot wall with a rope hanging over the side. I can hear the Drill Sergeant now. “Get down and give me…..er…..one !” And the running part seems to be a hell of a waste of good energy. I’ve never seen anyone outrun a bullet. I’m reminded of the story of the young bull and the old bull standing on a hill looking down at the cows. “Let’s run down there and make love to one of those cows,” says the young bull. “How about we WALK down there and! make love to ALL those cows,” replies the old bull.

Patience is something most 18-year-olds simply do not have. For good reason too. An 18-year-old has the whole world ahead of him. He’s still learning to shave. To actually carry on a conversation. To learn that a pierced tongue catches food particles. And that a 200-watt speaker in the back seat of a Honda Accord can rupture an eardrum.

All great reasons to keep our sons at home to learn a little more about life before sending them off to a possible death.

Let us old guys track down those dirty, rotten, filthy, cowards who attacked our country three weeks ago today.

The last thing they’d want to see right now would be a couple of million old guys with attitudes !
