"Obama's momentum benefits from his rival 'making the case against himself,' a strategist says.

The Associated Press

DES MOINES, Iowa - In a presidential race seemingly frozen in place for months, the advantage has shifted toward President Obama after a series of miscues by Mitt Romney, punctuated by the Republican challenger's comments about people who pay no income tax.

“The resentment toward Romney not fighting back is starting to grow. Romeny seems to be stuck in neutral, unable to get the car into drive. He refuses to take risks...”

I mentioned my doubts about Romney in an email recently to a friend (as conservative a person as anyone on this forum) and his response was:
“I’ve already resigned myself to an Obama victory. I just don’t care anymore. If that’s the best that the GOP can muster, then they deserve to lose. Even lil’ Newty would have fared better if given the chance.”

Durn right.
At least Newt would have put up a fight.
Romney doesn’t even want to put up his fists...

Au contraire. You'll see that I totally agree with the PA Ras poll that shows Romney behind. I think he is behind in PA, and that it's a waste of time (but not as far behind as Ras has him). I am a little distressed about the last Ras WI and IA polls.

So, at the same time, I'm encouraged by all the polling from FL and CO and NJ and NH (Romney up there 3, tied in FL and CO using a +3 Dem turnout, which may or may not be accurate---but it certainly won't be higher).

But surely you aren't buying national polls from ANYONE that have a D+13 or D+10 model? That's above even 2008? Is there ANYONE who thinks the Dem turnout this year will be higher than in 08? If so, I have a bridge to sell them.

And let’s remember, Gallup is still registered voters and we know from experience and statistics, not just “wishin’ and hopin’” that registered polls tend to give Dems about a +2 edge.

Anymore, political polls are conducted to deceive and generate support for the pollsters choice. I don’t pay much attention to them, because they mean nothing at this point in time

This is set up for stealing the election, or at least delegitimization.

There seems to be WAAAAAAY to much “whistling past the graveyard” here and FR. Way to much over confidence. I believe we are all going to be slapped in the face with a terrible reality on Wed. Nov 7th.

Yup. Even though though there was a lot of truth to his 47% comment, it hurt him. It made him look like another rich guy dumping on the poor. With the incompetence obama has shown with both the economy and now foreign affairs, one would think even Slow Joe Biden could clobber him. Something has to change, and fast. With only a little over 5 weeks left, time is running out fast. There is an enormous amount riding on the first debate. Romney has to be absolutely perfect, and obama has to make a mistake of such enormous proportions that even the media won’t be able to cover for him.

Judge Haller: "Uh, the two what? Uh, uh, what was that ...youts?"

I hope some of the youts have learned how corrupt Obama is....but you are probably right.

As I’ve said many times, if Obama were a Republican and had the type of polls he has, the media would be pounding the narrative that he’s in big trouble because as an incumbent, he’s not polling over 50 percent.

I haven’t heard Martha Raddatz, Wolf Blitzer, Andre Mitchell, etc ever mention that fact. The bit about an incumbent polling below 50 percent used to be media election gospel.

Well said. You should have seen this place the day before the election in 2008. People still thought all the polls were wrong and McCain was going to win a landslide.

Romney’s running a pretty lousy campaign. There are so many great ads that should be run and aren’t. How about an ad that shows US Military in a gay pride parade or kissing in uniform? How about something that shows coal miners being laid off overlaid on Solyndra logo? Not sure why we can’t seem to find a fighter in the GOP.

Actually Romney’s truth “gaffes” appear to have improved his polling.

WTF polls are they effing talking about in the media???
Gallup and Ras have them tied.
Early voting is starting and this is like when those bastards report on bias exit polling to depress our side from coming out later and voting. Exit polling mostly always favors rats especially during the day when regular people are working.

The “OMG ITS SO OVER FOR ROMNEY” meme from the media with weeks left to go, not to mention BOTH debates, is starting to work my damn nerve.

No honey, independents usually break for the challenger and most polls show Romney is getting the independents vote.

Many people on here resent the MSM and the biased reporting.
The resentment toward Romney not fighting back is starting to grow. Romeny seems to be stuck in neutral, unable to get the car into drive. He refuses to take risks. Obama can not get much traction either. His friends in the low places media seem to keep trying to push his car as he spins in a ditch.

Perfect analogy.

From the White House spokespeople at AP? Of course not...it's fabricated bullsh*t. Outside of sports and the weather; most media spew is bullsh*t.
