Democratic officials, citing weather concerns, are moving President Obama's planned nomination acceptance speech indoors -- and in doing so, choosing a significantly smaller venue that will leave out potentially thousands of Obama supporters.
The campaign is already moving to figure out what to do with those who planned to attend, and indicated Wednesday they would be invited to future Obama events, though not the main event this Thursday in Charlotte. An Obama campaign source told FoxNews.com the team is urging supporters to stay home Thursday and, instead, organize watch parties and participate in the live stream.
"We are encouraging them not to come to Charlotte," the source said.
Obama plans to speak to surely-disappointed credential holders via conference call Thursday afternoon.
The sudden change of plans, announced Wednesday by the Democratic convention committee, significantly scales back the atmosphere for Obama's second nomination address.

———They ran out of buses———
I calculated yesterday it would take 923 buses to bring the 65,000 faithful to the stadium. That is more buses that Mayor Nagin failed to use to evacuate New Orleans. Charlotte lacks the space to park 923 buses.
After the dreamers planned the event, the logisticians who tallied the number of buses, the parking available, the cost, and the impossibility of managing such a logistical task, the event was cancelled.
Pie in the sky failed when subjected to reality.
[ Those RAT witches were afraid of the rain...]
Nope. They knew they had no chance to even come close to filling that stadium.
In 2008, Obama would have given the speech in the rain to his chanting useful idiots.
EGGSactly Batman!
Clint Eastwood's "Empty Chair Meme" has allowed the Romney Campaign to get inside the "decision loop" of the Obama Campaign!
Obama now has to pay attention to empty chairs at all his functions from now on. They are waaaay off their game and are scrambling! (I believe they were in trouble before the ECOTUS but Clint 's skit was akin to directing an Sidwinder right into Obama's Engine exhaust!)
(My pilot BIL put that in laymen terms for us non-pilots. Imagine someone shooting a grenade into your body's rear exhaust port... OUCH!)
LMAO!
Sounds like they’re going to try to stick with the football stadium?
People of Charlotte are going to be really thrilled when they learn that the DNC bused all this scum and fungus into their city... but have no plans to bus them back OUT.
They have a real problem now. See, all those people they shipped in and gave free tickets to thought they were going to see a Panthers game...
Just think how disappointed the 55,000 fawning admirers are, who wanted to see Obama but will not be able to do so because of the smaller venue.
Or more likely, think how disappointed the homeless shelters around the Southeast are, that they couldn’t ship 55,000 of their finest to Charlotte for the night.
Ooh! Let's have a split screen during Obama's speech with a blimp shot of the empty stadium. Somebody get Roger Ailes on the phone.
It is certainly NOT weather related.
It is optics or safety.
Boy that sure sounds scary !
Lol
Well, THESE panthers are available...
Do you have a link for that?
They’ll use the 923 buses on election day. 65,000 faithful voting 10 times each will flip any state that needs flipping. We just need to increase the number of states that need flipping to have any chance.
Are you referring to this guy?

I hardly think they’d shut down an event over a rainforest activist. They couldn’t fill the stadium..that’s why they switched it.
Exactly. The forecast called for partly cloudy skies with a 70% chance of not enough Democrat asses in the seats.
