At 2:00 p.m. today in Tampa, the Republican National Committee, led by Team Romney, is moving to shut down conservative grassroots activists. Ive been on the phone with several individuals involved in the fight who tell me that the fight is not over, it is only just starting.
Specifically, the media is reporting that the rules fight is over because Team Romney is abandoning Ben Ginsbergs effort to allow candidates to control delegates. Under an initial proposal, delegates would, in effect, be chosen by the presumed nominees campaign and not based on votes in the states and delegate selection processes in the states.
That issue appears resolved, but several people Ive spoken to this morning make clear that Team Romney and the RNC establishment are using that compromise as a red herring to distract from two major rules change proposals that would decimate Republican grassroots and prevent upstart political campaigns.
Reports that the floor fight threat is over might be designed to calm the grassroots and get them to ignore what is coming at 2 oclock.
The first rule to be proposed is one that would give the Republican National Committee the power to change rules between conventions with a three-quarters vote of the RNC. One source tells me, With a Republican President, of course this is doable. Everybody will roll over if a President Romney asks them too. Theyll be able to get Ben Ginsbergs proposal next year.
In other words, if Team Romney prevails in this rules change, they dont have to worry about Ben Ginsberg not getting his way today on the delegate changes. Theyll be able to do it later when the press and grassroots are not watching.
The second rules change would front load winner takes all primaries.

You may be right, but its just hard to believe that Mitt really wants to lose. That he would spend all that he has spent trying to win this election only to pull a stunt like this.
I think God beat you to that punchline, but you can pretend that the lesser of two evils is good,I don't think it will work, but you are free to try.
In the mean time how about just giving us a rest and Shut Up, you are too deluded to be in these conversations.
This may come as a shock to you but apparently so did Bush, or he was stupid enough to believe that his replacement would act. But then again he said North Korea cold never have nukes either as I recall. He also signed a bill to build a fence after he saw he might lose the election, then after the election got his fellow progressive Texan Kay Baily to amend the budget, and the list goes on.
By the way my hero Bibi must have took stupid pills as well to believe that Bush's replacement was likely to be any help, with Iran.
You’re a riot, you tell me to shut up and then ask if I am capable of being in the conversation. You aren’t having any conversation. It’s like you and fellow cultists are trying to psych yourselves up to get ready for the space ship that going to come and take you all away before the final day.
“This may come as a shock to you but apparently so did Bush, or he was stupid enough to believe that his replacement would act.”
Great...FreeRepublic meets Blame Bush. Remarkable.
Your blame Bush deflection of Ron Paul nuttiness aside, Iran had zero centrifuges and zero highly enriched weapons grade uranium to make a nuclear bomb.
Even so, Bush put strict economic sanctions and attained int’l support for such policies.
Obama has done nothing but acquiesce to Iranian full throttle acceleration of attaining a nuclear capability and Ron Paul still believes it’s none of our business.
Oh, and your tagline....love it.
(Write in Palin in 2012, Just to pi$$ off the Romney botts.)
Sarah Palin supports and endorses Romney.
If Gov. Palin is FOR backstabber RINO Romney
(author of DEATH PANELS, gay marriage)
then it is probably only Stockholm syndrome, if it is real.
Did you used to work for the Clinton administration?
"It's old news. Let's move on."
NO.
IT'S NOT OLD NEWS.
WE WILL NOT MOVE ON.
Furthermore, you are delusional if you think this is the only place this is being discussed, and with great anger.
You are an establishment hack.
I reached this point when Roberts crossed over and voted for the upholding of the clearly-unconsititional Individual Mandate.
Ryan’s selection was to gain conservative support and it did. I don’t know why the RNC couldn’t have figured out a way to help The Ron Paul supporters feel somewhat placated. The RNC didn’t even announce the Ron Paul votes from the platform. Now that was dumb. Romney could very well lose because of these blunders. I thought they deserved to lose with their Romney support from the beginning. It seems like a power struggle is more important than wise government. I do believe the RNC deserves a kick in the pants. I will still vote for local and Congressional candidates, and I think Ron Paul is slightly senile and am not a supporter, I just don’tlike the RNC anti grassroots attitude. It is not only UnAmerican it is unRepublican.

Let’s rely on God. But, let’s also suit up and show up. Expect my editorial today.
Always GOD! Looking forward to the editorial. Thanks.

Okay. Sorry I smacked out at ya. It was (yet another) disheartening day. We seem to be getting a lot of those lately. Glad you responded with measure. It makes it easier to make my amends.
Will ping you to the editorial.
Will do....
I'm not one who thinks he wants to lost. I don't buy that at all. What he is doing to try to take over the party is the same thing he did at Bain. Buy a company (Republican Party), get rid of those you don't want (conservatives), put in your people and you own it and run it.
He is shrewd and will get what he wants whatever he has to do to get it.
Did the establishment Republicans order a “Code Red” on the Akin campaign?
Are establishment Republicans trying to dismantle the Todd Akin for U.S. Senate Campaign from the inside? According to operatives, inside the Akin campaign, the Missouri GOP and the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC) have contacted several Akin campaign insiders with direct threats and offers of better-paying positions, in other campaigns, in exchange for abandoning the congressman’s campaign.
Bush knew for an absolute fact that Iran was doing all they could, to build the Bomb and they have every intention of using it to destroy Israel.
How deluded would he have to be to expect that Zero would do anything to inhibit Iran.
I never liked GHWB, and I didnt like GW, for the same reason I don't like Romney. They are One Worlders to the core.
Which of these three have done anything to preserve the Union?
You are already on one, so have fun. We will wait for a better ride.
