I am also impressed by Steak and Shake. Particularly the fact that you see so many clean, smiling, hard-working young people employed there. Rare to see such a work ethic among youngsters these days.
Cracker Barrel used to not hire gays, but they caved under pressure tactics similar to those being used on Chick-Fil-A.
Had a family member working for Dennys back when they settled a race discrimination charge with the Rever-hund Jaaaack-suuhn. Really took it up the shorts. All employees were presumed racists until they showed up for enough sensitivity training sessions to get their minds right.

You want me to recommend the GC?
I can’t vouch for their restrooms.

If your ever in South Carolina, look for The Clock.
Awesome burgers. Unpretentious.
Closed on Sundays.

If we’re talkin’ small chains in Michigan you should take a drive across the state and check out Bill Thomas’ Haloburger. Don’t know their politics, but them burgers is TASTY!

That’s over 30 years FRiend. It’s been a tradition in my lifetime! All my friends and people back home go there regularly. I am near 40 now.

According to The Blue Pages, 2nd Edition, Denny’s operations is a huge contributor to the Democratic Party.

Dennys corporate headquarters, according to The Blue Pages, 2nd Edition, is a huge contributor to the Democratic party
Another artifact of the race discrimination charge they settled. They are going to spend the rest of their corporate life paying off the Revh-ruhhhnnd Jaaaack-suhhn and his supporters.

Being an avid O-Gauger, its nice to know Hobby Lobby is on our side.
I know I'll be spending my $$ there when it becomes time to seriously expand the SWP & O,
(South Western Pennsylvania and Ohio Railroad....see below.....my hobby and second passion after music, hehehe.)

We usually head to Whatburger too. Good folks, quick service, real-people sized burgers....and I've never seen them serve anything less than the freshest food.
And the breakfast biscuits!
Num, num, num.
Great. Now I'm hungry. :-)

Always liked CiCi’s Pizza for the value and friendliness of staff. Here’s the Wiki version...
CiCi’s Pizza is an American buffet restaurant chain based in Coppell, Texas, specializing in pizza. There are approximately 600 franchised and corporately owned restaurants in 35 states. A family-oriented concept, CiCis is known for its popular pizza, pasta, salad and dessert buffet featuring up to 20 varieties of pizza, all offered for about $5 per adult buffet.

All of the CiCi’s in my area closed up shop and left. Shortly after the Obamacare ruling came down (though I can’t prove a connection). Kinda hard to buy health insurance for all your employees at five bucks a head. Too bad as it was a great deal.

Tilted kilt? I’d ask but I already have a mental image. Thanks for sending my diet coke out through my nose.

With a name like that, I'm surprised you didn't mention Russ’ ... That's probably the premier Dutch family owned chain in West Michigan. Closed on Sunday of course.

I grew up in a house where if I wanted to eat, I had to learn to cook, and one of my first jobs at 16 years old was a 1-1/2 year stint as the rotating shift Relief Cook for Denny’s #3 in Long Beach, California.
We still enjoy stopping at a Denny’s whenever Mrs. RQSR, and myself are on the road.
