Last Monday, a high school student in North Carolina engaged his social studies teacher in a heated debate about politics and the two leading presidential candidates. During the exchange, the teacher (an obvious Obama supporter) got very angry with the student and accused him of disrespecting the president. She even went so far as to tell the boy that he could be jailed for speaking ill of Obama.

correct. The dye has been cast.
Name is Tanya Dixon-Neely.
Hmmmph. Never trust hyphenated wymyn.
More like North Korea ! Way things are going, we will have a new form of a Sedition Act.
> School System is based in Salisbury, North Carolina.
“...This is just one of many unbalanced teachers out there....”
...and yet another reason that justifies my spending $$$ to send my kids through parochial school.
We know all the teachers personally, they’re about 95% conservative, and the school has have common cultural, philosophical, and - American - beliefs - like my family does.
I’m sure there’s some good public schools around the country, but the ones in my area are infested with this same sort of garbage.
It was good to hear that kid stand up to the shrew...and basically laugh at her - sometimes, the deterioration of the school system works AGAINST the libtards.
I wonder if this teacher goes around with that arrogant nose-in-the-air like obammy? Truly pathetic compensation for being a big fat nothing is what it is.
It is good that this teacher was caught in the act.
Normally, I would say that cell phones in the classroom are a bad thing (which is how I believe this was recorded).
Maybe the left will start to behave knowing they might be recorded.
Never happen. They will just blame Bush.
Name has that nice, Amish ring to it ? /s
LOL.. dye should be die cast, but perhaps your spelling makes more sense...

I went to parochial school for my first 5 years. When I entered public school, I was at least a year ahead of the other students. I was able to get into advanced placement courses in high school.

Amazing, isn’t it, what happens when teachers actually TEACH...I know...it’s a silly, silly concept!!!!
Just saw a reference on Twitter that the teacher is now suspended. It’s a start.
“She also threatens him about not doing his work, and says its criminal to disrespect the Pres.”
IF this teacher had been the type to consistently say that students would never be disrespectful to the POTUS, regardless of who he/she is, then she might have grounds for jumping on a student. However, she was just an Obama fan and only thinks “free speech” goes in the direction she wants.
Even though I actually loath Mr. Obama. When I am talking in a public setting, I always properly call him President Obama. I have done the same for all presidents, even past ones. It is a common curtesy.
However, I think this “educator” was more interested in mind control and education.
And lets be honest, he could be.
Just call it a hate crime.
In NC, tenure protects her from firing unless there’s a moral issue like theft or sexual impropriety. It’s possible to remove her for incompetence but it takes several years of intense monitoring/documentation, and she has to be shown to have failed to make any effort to change. She’s been teaching over 20 yrs. based on a pic of her and her husband next to their morbidly obese son at his high school graduation in 2010. She graduated from the same stellar historically black institution as Duke Hoaxtresss Crystal Mangum.. NC Central U.
In a way, that would be appropriate--if only "adults only" didn't mean smut.
How about,
“The dye was cast, leaving upon her name a permanent stain.”
