NBC has launched an internal probe after running an edited version of the 911 call from George Zimmerman -- the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin -- that made Zimmerman sound racist.
"We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story," the network said in a statement to the Washington Post on Monday.
NBC's "Today" show ran the edited audio of George Zimmerman's phone call to a police dispatcher in which Zimmerman says: "'This guy looks like he's up to no good … he looks black."

Hey NBC!! There was a mass shooting at a nursing school in Calf yesterday. How about a little sympathy for those families.....Oh wait, those people don’t look like 0bama’s son. Never mind.
So how many YEARS will it take to find out what happened???
If this country is so determined to pass “racial incitement” laws a la Europe, they need go no further than this; it is a prime example, and it was designed to kill people (as always happens when the urban black underclass is stirred up - even if most of the resulting dead are black).
NBC and ABC have joined the liberal lynch mob. Zimmerman’s lawyer must be drewling with anticipation...the civil suit is going to be amazing.
Remember...like Sandra Fluke...Zimmerman is “just a citizen”, that was the liberal position as to why Rush had to be destroyed.
Same applies here.
Think it’s a coincidence Palin is hosting TODAY, today? Suspect it’s part of damage control.
Maybe a lawyer can chime in on this. In a potential civil lawsuit would NBC’s prior transgressions such as the Richard Jewell case and the “exploding Ford pickup truck gas tanks” be admissable as evidence of a pattern of behavior on the part of NBC?
And, will anyone be fired?

I do not know what happened. I do know that Zimmerman has been edited to the point of defamation. His life is clearly in danger, and it’s all because he has a light skin tone.

This “internal investigation” means that they’re all over there meeting with each other to coordinate their message and to make sure everyone sticks to that made-up excuse if people are ever questioned at a later time.

The word on the street is that the order to edit the tape for maximum destructive value came down from Comcast. Comcast has a political interest in inciting nationwide riots.
No surprise that this fails the common sense test.
If NBC couldn’t prevent such an obvious act of deceit why should they be entitled to any confidence that they can gather news internally?
I heard they may get some help on this from the team of investigators OJ’s had looking for Nicole’s real killer.
