RUSH: Now, this health story. The website's called Signs of the Times, and the story here is by Dr. Dwight Lundell. "Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease." The upshot of it is that everything that we think we're doing to promote cardiovascular health is actually contributing to cardiovascular problems. This story prints out six pages. The doctor wrote it. So many times I have mentioned over the years about diet, health, food, how we are being manipulated by government goals, wrong medical ideas. Food activists with a logo and a fax machine putting out bogus information to the media, and they just run with it. As long as it contains "government has to step in to save us," then they'll be happy to promote whatever the lying data is.
So what we have here is a heart surgeon who is saying that he and his profession have been wrong for decades. This experiment with statins and low-fat diets has not worked. He says it's time to move on to another way. I'll give you some pull quotes before getting to the story. "Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before."
Another pull quote. "I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator -- inflammation in their arteries." Not blockage, inflammation.

a lot of people don’t buy coconut oil due to the cost. I look at it a down payment on good health - saving a lot of money on doctors fown the line.
I also just like the taste and the way it cooks - very high burn point - so perfect for stir fry, eggs etc
Fish oil, people! Fish oil!
One of the best anti-inflammatorys there is!
As much as possible, lay off the corn oils and most other vegetable oils. They are pro-inflammatory, and ARE NOT the types of oils your body is designed to eat.
Nut oils, walnut oils, that kind being an exception.
Is this actually a sly sidle-in endorsement of the ketone producing Adkins diet?
Ouch. I'll bet you have to re-sharpen your cutting utensils a lot. I can't imagine doing that to my poor innocent Wusthof cutlery. I have to re-sharpen the steak knives far more often than the rest....they being the only ones "cutting on" ceramic. All my cutting boards are wood.
No, its a rejection of destructive fats.
Its all ablut the fats and what they do to your cell membranes, not what kind of diet you’re on. The diff between vegies and meaties is that the vegies consume far more starch, and thus have a higher static glucose level to deal with. It wouldn’t matter if the glucose could enter the cells to be metabolized, but it cannot due to the unnatural fats that make up the cell membranes.
To put it simply, if you used all saturated natural fats it wouldn’t matter what your preferences between meat and vegetables was. Most weight gain is directly caused by the high glucose. The fibro myalgia would cease too, since it is mostly due to the low blood oxygen levels that result from the anaerobic metabolism caused by high blood glucose.
I have one of those yo-yo shaped knife sharpeners. It works OK. I like stainless steel which does not come to as good an edge but, being harder, keeps what edge it does have longer.
An old beat up plastic plate also works for me, is easier on the knives, and can go through the dishwasher.

Which fits the “if it tastes good, it is good” mantra.
The Japanese use a fair amount of soy and yet do not seen to suffer from it.
Maybe God is telling me I’m unique because I find corn oil to be yummy.
Not sure if you are agreeing with me or not!
scuse me, I just bought some Black Cherry Chocolate Chunk ice cream... - be right back!
;-)
Excellent!
Actually they use very little soy that isn’t fermented.
And no matter how yummy you may think corn oil is, it puts railcoats on every one of your cells.
“Euell Gibbons died of a ruptured Aorta, caused by a congenital defect, Marfans syndrome. Your point is?”
Number one: That’s speculation. In reality, depending on where you look you will indeed find his death listed as “due to natural causes”.
Number two: Who really gives a flying fig anyway?
Number three: (In response to your question) See my tag line.
Number four: learn to chuckle once in a while.
Number five: Have a nice day.
I am a vegan now and I cut out meat and dairy products, so I should stick with using olive oil and avoid vegetable oils? What else has polyunsaturates, processed foods? Is this what he is telling us to avoid? This is where this is getting confusing for me.
Just about every processed or packaged food is loaded with them.
Make your sauces yourself from scratch with olive or almond oil, and don’t keep them for later if they have set out in sunlight for very long.
Mm-mm. Hankering for some big ears of supersweet corn with Fleischmann’s margarine on them right now.
Adios!
(Yuk!)
Knew that Fleischmann’s would chase you off like a crucifix a vampire....
Butter will do in a pinch. But I love that supersweet corn. And love to follow it up with a dessert of cornmeal cake.
Nothing wrong with a little buttered corn bread.
“Peer reviewed” = Your fellow academic grant junkie read your report and concluded that it wouldn’t threaten the gravy train of taxpayer funded research grants. You can keep making the lease payment on your Mercedes Benz E350.
