Look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Its a drone, and its watching you. Thats what privacy advocates fear from a bill Congress passed this week to make it easier for the government to fly unmanned spy planes in U.S. airspace.
The FAA Reauthorization Act, which President Obama is expected to sign, also orders the Federal Aviation Administration to develop regulations for the testing and licensing of commercial drones by 2015.

State’s have constitutions...? Who nu? /sarc
Really though... this has been on the books unchallenged for a number of years now. As much as your legal logic is how it should be...it is not how it will be.
Thanks for the Big Brother Ping.
Well, we’ve always been a minority. At least nothing has changed. I wonder what’s behind all this. What have they been briefed on that the rest of us don’t know?
I’ve seen them smashed up pretty good in black neighborhoods. The only white neighborhood where I’ve seen them abused is on the far NW side where a lot of police, fire and city workers live. Other than that civil disobedience is dead. A century of government schooling has seen to that.
“” What have they been briefed on that the rest of us dont know?””
In a word - Nothing. Another Georgia FReeper took the liberty of calling one of our “Peck’s bad boys” - (Isakson) to ask that very question...I won’t even make you guess the answer, because I think you have probably already figured it out.
The staffer knew nothing about any provisions within the bill pertaining to drones, and communicated that the Senator was also more than likely unaware.
This kind of thing does tend to happen when you don’t read the bills you vote on Senator....
Dear Lord, give us strength.

I can almost envision a cabal meeting in an office deep within the bowels of Capital Hill coordinating what is and what is not told to the Senators and Representatives.
Yep. Just yesterday, immediately after posting to this thread, I picked up the local, SMALL town daily. Front page, above the fold article about the new “tool” the city police department had recently acquired- to “assist the SWAT team”.....
Don’t know about you, but I sure feel safer. /S
Dear Lord, give us strength.

Well, but if they haven’t started reading these things for themselves at this point, it doesn’t seem to me that they are too worried about what they don’t know.
And so, they are not only of no good use to you or I, but are a true danger, serving only as, quite simply and aptly put - Useful Idiots.
And thank you, this helped tremendously in fleshing out my letters to our two illustrious Senators.
May God guide our course.

So the only anger and intestinal fortititude is in black communities and communities where the majority work for the State. Disheartening.
sparsely populated, low-density Class G air traffic airspace
Not much harm in that one.”””
Disagree-———that’s where I live.
Not all of Class G is being considered, just one area or maybe a few.
When government gets so big that those vested in its management don’t know what’s going on you know we’re following the White Rabbit right down the hole.
Do you ever get tired of being prescient?
Anyone surprised to see some of these names that went along with this? Rubio and Kyl especially....
Quietly raises hand.
Tis why I posted it. Thune and Coburn were particularly troubling.
Getting hard to know who to trust these days.
Please give us strength Lord.

These are low slow flyers, like the ones in UK are 1000ft or less. But, they are electric and near impossible to hear. You are correct about our bigger DOD drones, however.
