Weve covered the Catholic Churchs ongoing battle with the Obama administration over contraception health care mandates for quite some time. Over the weekend, though, the stand-off took an unusual turn, as Catholic churches across America read a letter to congregants that perfectly encapsulated the churchs stance against the impending federal requirements.
The Churchs vocal arguments against the Obama administration are centered upon a Health and Human Services Department requirement that employers must include contraception and abortion-inducing drugs in health-care coverage. While this requirement doesnt apply to houses of worship, it will force Catholic colleges, hospitals and other Christian groups to provide these drugs despite their faith-based opposition to them.

I hope the catholics do what the mennonites amish and manyothers do, make a support group and self finance. Works as Mutual aid,and takes them totally out of the laws of Hussain. It is a big kiss off. I imagine that the Mormans already use mutual aid.
Medishare and samaritan are examples of other Christian mutual aid groups.
I understand that the Islamics are already in the mutual aid business.
What you’re seeing is Catholic liberals, like all other liberals, want to feel good about themselves for their “good works”,
but don’t want to actually do the work, just advocate that others do good works, and attribute that advocacy to their own righteousness.
This is the appeal of having the government do it.
You don’t have to actually do the work, nor deal with the people, nor even use your own wealth to “help” others.
I'm surprised Glenn is calling for support of Catholics. While I don't listen to or watch Glenn religiously, it always seemed to me that he had a low opinion of the Catholic Church.
Mormons have a low view of the Catholic Church, ex-Catholics tend to be critical of it, and whenever Beck would have religious people on his shows, I found it telling that he never had a priest on as far as I know.
You’re right about that. I’m glad the church leaders have finally spoken up in opposition to this Administration, but this letter seems somewhat of a toothless tiger if they won’t take the next, logical step and state that withholding political support (votes) for the politicians who propose such rules is also called for. When it comes to that concrete action, the bishops seem to flinch. I think they all should read the book of James and think about putting their faith into action.
I find “The Blaze” to be borderline Anti-Catholic. Their comments are handled in the same way that comments are handled here. The powers that be let Anti-Catholic statements stand and the management says “We are not Anti-Catholic”.
With this issue, I’m not going to argue about any of it. The issue is bigger than liking or not liking an organization. It’s about our rights. All of our rights.
Beck respects the stand the Bishops have taken. When you invite the leader of the Catholic League onto your show, you know this is something big.
And BTW, Beck just aired a segment of GBTV. He had on Bill Donahue, a Rabbi, an Evangelical Pastor and the man who wrote the article above.
Glenn said, “Catholics, we will fight with you and Rabbi you can attest to this, I am a man of my word. We are with you.”

That’s encouraging.
Although I still remain a bit convinced that Glenn does not like Catholicism after hearing you describe how comments at the Blaze are edited.
I have not watched every episode of his show or anything, but I can’t recall a priest or another representative of Catholicism ever being on his show.
I also hear that he misconstrues the Catholic concept of social justice, has exaggerated Christian anti-semitism, and perpetuates the “Dark Ages” myth, which of course means the Church was oppressive during that time.
Aside from that, he is still worth listening to on occasion.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Gregory stopped pandering to the illegals long enough to do his job and defend Church doctrine.
Why?
How about you learn some history and stop uncritically imbibing the anti-Christian and anti-Catholic Enlightenment myths?
Catholics in the Anchorage Archdiocese got Archbishop Schweitz’s letter in their bulletins yesterday. It stated clearly that Catholics were not to comply with the federal mandates, for the sake of LIFE.
There was a priest on the stage for the big event in Washington DC.

well, I 'm not a very good practicing Catholic, but I do know that Catholic teaching differs from other Christian religons because we believe that ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS and I couldn't find a better example than how some Catholics preach about Jesus, but then act totally against HIM...

The First Amendment is now on the chopping block. Are you for it, or against it? If you're only for it for groups you like, that's the same thing as being against it.
The Second Amendment will be the target after the First is dead. The Tenth Amendment died long ago. Soon, the Bill of Rights will just be a memory, and we'll have a full-blown dictatorship. But by golly, we'll keep the stupid Papists and their smelly brats in their place, won't we ?!?!?!
