Weve covered the Catholic Churchs ongoing battle with the Obama administration over contraception health care mandates for quite some time. Over the weekend, though, the stand-off took an unusual turn, as Catholic churches across America read a letter to congregants that perfectly encapsulated the churchs stance against the impending federal requirements.
The Churchs vocal arguments against the Obama administration are centered upon a Health and Human Services Department requirement that employers must include contraception and abortion-inducing drugs in health-care coverage. While this requirement doesnt apply to houses of worship, it will force Catholic colleges, hospitals and other Christian groups to provide these drugs despite their faith-based opposition to them.

Catholic hospitals and charities do very great work - and not just among other Catholics, of course.
I am not a Catholic, but I recognize that the Catholic Church is a conduit of God’s grace. I certainly will add my prayers to yours.
First, they came for the unborn. Then they came for the Catholics. Then,....
its time to take a stand.
Shame on the Catholics who helped put Obama in office and, idiotically, didn’t see this coming.
I am so glad the Catholic Church is taking a stand on this. It would behoove all Catholics to also think about this mandate when they go to the voting booth this fall.
It will also force Catholic business owners to buy health plans that support contraception and abortion. And it will do the same to any other Christian business owners who object to being forced by the government to pay for killing babies.
And it will further undermine the health profession, which is already infiltrated with doctors and nurses and pharmacists who would just as soon kill their patients as heal them.
I know; my mother was in a nursing home, before dying a natural death at 102, and whenever she went in to the hospital for treatment, I had to argue with some doctor who wanted to persuade me that it would be cheaper to kill her. Luckily they refrained from doing it; but you cannot count on that in this expanding culture of death.
There are still plenty of faithful doctors and nurses, who support life, but they are getting fewer, and will be fewer still if these mandates are forced on us. Queen Sebelius, Obama’s choice to run his health empire, was a bosom buddy of Dr. Death, and shared the abortion wealth with him.
Thought exercise question: What happens if Catholic institutions refuse to comply and continue to offer Catholic health care anyway? Does the IRS start kicking in doors and hauling Catholics off to jail? If playing Obama’s game within the existing legal framework is fruitless, would mass street action be more effective? How about excommunicating leading Obama Administration Catholics?
There is an “out”. They have another year before they have to comply. Plenty of time to elect Newt and a republican House and Senate.
No doubt about it. This is precisely where will-to-power driven state supremacists always go. The destination at the end of that road is horror, slaughter and strocity.
Reference our stand at Klamath Falls for ideas should it come to that.
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said late last year that the Churchs conscience thing puts woman at risk (yes, shes a Catholic).
When is the Catholic church going to boot her sorry ass out? Plus any Kennedy who decides to run for public office.
25% of all hospital beds in the US are in buildings with the word “Saint” on the door. If Obama wants a healthcare crisis, we’ll give him one. Then we have to see how he responds to the crisis he provoked. Will he pull a GM and take the hospitals over and turn their ownership over to the SEIU?

This should have been done a long time ago, or at least restrict their receiving the Eucharist.
BUMP
The truth of the matter is that government enforces its will through violence.
If the church really will not comply, either with the mandate or the consequences for not complying with the mandate,
eventually violence will be used by the government.
We’ll see how far this non-compliance goes.
As for me and my House, We Will Not Comply!!!
