Please. Gingrich is the frontrunner and the frontrunner always gets the most negative attention.

Oh? And Mr "Inevitable" Romney hadn't been the frontrunner for months and months? Yes there were surges by other candidates but Romney was always at or near the top. So where were the avalanche of hit pieces aimed at him? Let's face it, the only frontrunners heavily attacked on a consistent basis are those perceived as spearheading the conservative effort, never those viewed as leading the moderate movement.

Palin. Bachmann. Cain. Gingrich. Whoever is seen as an up-and-coming conservative threat to the establishment is always subjected to a "shock and awe" bombardment. Is there really any comparison between the coverage the ones mentioned above have received and Romney?

“It seems Matt is going to do all he can to stop Newt. Never saw Drudge as an establishment type and haven’t seen this much of a single line of attack by Drudge since the Lewinski scandal.”

Isn’t it amazing what the monied class will do to keep the monied class in the money?

This is about the establishment. It’s the Northeast media elites and the Country club Republicans doing their best to duplicate the great success of 2008 and 1996 and 1976.

They don’t care if Obama is reelected. They care about the Senate because that is where the real power lies. Right now, everyone who is part of the monied class is making a killing because there is no one watching the piggy bank.

Without a budget, everyone is getting their money except the middle class. Whether it is Obama or Romney, that will continue.

They are afraid of Newt because if people vote the entire ticket, the only people that win are us. Because all those primaries will go to tea party candidates. Companies will make a lot more money and the employees will make a lot more money. Retirement accounts will once again fill up. People will spend again. They will buy houses, cars, furniture, food, dine out...

Everything that that monied class and the northeast liberal elites (aka the fascists and communists) hate.

When you equateb Gingrich's conservatism which has been steadfast...he's never been pro-abortion, never vocally walked away from conservative leaders like Reagan, ushered in the Contract with America....is FAR FAR different tan Romney who, after he said he switched to pro-life ushered into MA serious pro-choice legislation, allowed gay marriage and his record is clear. He has NEVER been a conservative.

so forgive me if I get really pissed off when y our attempt to equate the two. Because its utter BS.

. equate Gingrich tonPerry, Santorum, Bachman...all you want. But understand, Romney has NEVER been a conservative.

are either better than Obama? The big rubles with Romney against Obama is that Obama will highlight how little of a difference exist between the two of them except their wealth. Unfortunately, it's true.

Romney has barely broken 28% and then only a few occasions. As a frontrunner, from a traffic point of view, that’s a big yawn.

Also, if you have stories that knock down Romney, PLEASE submit them to Drudge. If enough people do that, he will link to them.

He’s clearly stated his and the position of FR RE Romney and Newt bashing over and over and over and over and over.... Yet people continue to push Romney and bash Newt.

They zot themselves by their actions, he just makes it official. And longevity shouldn’t have anything to do with it.

—their traditional methods of controlling us failed utterly I abhor this victim mentality.
No one “controlled” or “controls” anyone.—

The point is, the LSM is trying to influence the apolitical, mushy middle, the people that don’t read beyond the headlines, the people who thoughtlessly absorb the conventional wisdom.

The LSM is very good at cowing these people.

the Dems and the establishment have called a truce, put differences a side and are trying to take out the non establishment candidate, i.e. Newt.
All they care about is money, power and corruption.

So long as their side of the bread is buttered then to hell with us folk down here.
They have their elitist cross dressing homosexual north east liberal parties to go to and collect money from and we are told a bunch of lies and then told shut up and vote for our guy.

NO MORE

I’ve only visited his site maybe a dozen or so times and usually from a link from here.

No More.

AND when the RNC calls . . . and they will call, I’ll tell them I’m sending my money directly to Newt.org.

Not another dime to the RNC. Last time I donated was shortly after Sarah Palin was chosen. I’ve even received PAST DUE notices from them for my RNC membership, now that ticks me off, I’ve told them on the phone NO MORE MONEY.

“Unless we decide that conservatism is whatever Newt happens to think or say at some moment, say, when he’s paling around with Nancy Pelosi, we’ll have to realize he’s a leaky vessel to be the sole source of conservative orthodoxy.”

Yes. And pretending, or, not paying attention is rampant . . .

More links to stories about Drudge's inside connection to the Romney campaign:

Matt Rhoades, Romney campaign’s under-the-radar chief (Washington Post, November 20, 2011)
Romney's 2012 campaign manager is Matt Rhoades. His connection with Drudge discussed in this article

Mitt Romney leads the Drudge primary (Politico, 6/12/11)
Even though this article is from last summer, it discusses Drudge’s obvious favoritism toward Romney and Drudge’s high-level friend inside the Romney campaign.

Yes, Drudge is knocking out every conservative candidate with relentless attacks. Romney, who will lose to Obama in a massive landslide, will be the last candidate standing. Romney will lose to Obama and take republican House and Senate candidates with him.

Half way down Drudge’s homepage, on the right, is a text message box for news tips.

Use it to complain.

I just did. Be respectful. Let him know you’re a loyal reader. But complain.

Class warfare, much?

How about some people just think Newt is a nutcase and you don’t?

That is all.

My favorite was yesterday when he was trying to make something out of a Newt “flip flop” on supporting Goldwater! THAT WAS 1964!
If you are not at least 60 you don't even remember Goldwater who BTW deserved a flip flop because he ended his life as a Buckley buddy in the fight to legalize drugs. Even the NY Post is in Willard's tank running a college poll showing Willard +2 and ignoring Rasmussen's Newt +9. With the collapse of Faux News there is once again a vacuum in the right wing media however small it is.

Newt needs to be stopped since he is another bill clinton.

Given the owner's stand on statements like this, are you trying on purpose to get banned?

Agree to some extent.

The problem is that if conservatives don’t kick up a fuss to Newt now, they are forfeiting their leverage to do so later.

Too many see that as working against his election. I don’t, because I think this is a process that is going to happen anyway — it’s just a question of whether conservatives voice their concerns or whether they sit back and let others hold Newt accountable.

I see it as working toward a more consistent and accountable Gingrich administration, should one occur.

Sometimes I think Newt must be pinching himself and saying “my god, those conservatives are easy.”

The fact that Newt is better than Romney doesn’t make Newt’s problems go away.

That’s no answer to anything, especially once (if) Gingrich gets the nomination.

I know what you mean, and do understand your thinking, but I think we know if said candidate had gotten in, it would have been a trillion times worse. Even though the enemy would have had NOTHING but their old schtick to fall back on, they would have been ruthless, and RELENTLESS and no one, not friends or family or supporters would have been off the table.

We do indeed now have a true political ruling class, no less formidable than King George and they do NOT want to go back to being our servants. And sad to say, with waay too many of the American people only believing what the glowing box tells them, it is going to be a heckova battle to turn this thing around.

But like it or not, (and I am one of the many here who is looking at their 2nd or 3rd or 4th choice), we have to play with the cards we have left, and of those, we must coalesce strongly behind ONE candidate. The one who we think has the best shot at taking down the entire enemy camp - 0, TheMedia, TheLeft and TheRepubElites, because that is what it will take to win this.

May God grant us strength, wisdom and courage.
Tatt
