I am trying to work and listen at the same time, but is anybody else hearing this??
Obama is asking Congress to reinstate his Executive authority to streamline six agencies into one, so he could "help businesses grow, save businesses time, save businesses money."
He's making it sound like the best thing since sliced bread. News media is eating it up.

I just called Senator Ron Johnson’s office and left a message with my name and # with his aide. I told her I just heard President Obama’s request for Congress to give him the power to consolidate government authorities. I asked her to urge the Senator to vote AGAINST this obvious power grab and attempt to make the Congress and eventually the Supreme Court obsolete so he can be a dictator.
I urge everyone to contact their Congressmen and Senators and to tell them you expect them to VOTE NO AGAINST giving Obama the authority to become dictator-in-chief
I’ve got a group of middle-schoolers who are going to be researching with me how the Holocaust was able to be tolerated by the German people. I gave them some preliminary questions to help them organize the issue in their minds:
How was the system supposed to protect from this happening?
Why didn’t the system work to prevent this?
Did the people know it was happening?
I’ve been looking up Holocaust timelines so they can get abreast of the facts, and the thing that stands out is the role of the Reichstag Fire to get Hitler’s foot in the door so he could make the LEGAL/systemic changes that consolidated all power for him.
And now what you’re bringing out is Kristallnacht turning the propaganda into physical results against the targeted group.
What we’re seeing in this country is staggering. At some point these Congress-critters have to sue Obama in court so that his power grabs are ruled to be unconstitutional. If that doesn’t happen, then our system will have failed to protect us just like Germany’s system did. The German system failed because the people within it refused to fight. And we’ve got namby-pambies in Congress who still want to pretend this is about “reaching across the aisle”.
This is a full-out power grab by a tyrant, and if we don’t find somebody who will stand up to it so the system can protect us like it’s supposed to, this country is going to be torn limb from limb by the consolidated power of Obama’s handlers.

I believe there will be some kind of financial/international crisis or a major civil unrest (Occupy anyone?) which will necessitate the “temporary” suspension of many of our freedoms and rights.

Control who can buy and sell. It makes sense now. That’s straight from the description of the beasts of Revelation. The consolidated powers lead to the mark of the beast, without which nobody can buy or sell.

Enabling Act of March 23, 1933
This is Hitler's speech to the German congress for that act. It is similar to Obama's speech.
"By its decision to carry out the political and moral cleansing of our public life, the Government is creating and securing the conditions for a really deep and inner religious life. The advantages for the individual which may be derived from compromises with atheistic organizations do not compare in any way with the consequences which are visible in the destruction of our common religious and ethical values. The national Government sees in both Christian denominations the most important factor for the maintenance of our society. It will observe the agreements drawn up between the Churches and the provinces; their rights will not be touched. Followed immediately by a Reichstag Fire Event and declaration of martial law.

Let’s forget Hitler and Caesar for a second and be serious. What effect will this have? Probably none at all. It will simply be a shuffling of the seats on the deck of the sinking Titanic.
He’s trying to trick people into thinking he’s a “small government” guy. I’m sure 99% of posters here know that’s a bunch of bullspit. There are those independent voters, though, who will look at it and say...well...that’s the guy I voted for originally...maybe he’s not so bad after all.
Trust me. This is all in a playbook by Mr. Axelrod to make him look like he’s trying to retract government. Unfortunately, a lot of the lemmings will fall for it.

Wow. Hitler asked Hindenburg to get rid of the Reichstag, then 6 days before the election for the Reichstag the building was set on fire and Hitler blamed the Communists. The Reichstag gave Hitler emergency powers (ala Patriot Act or Defense Authorization Bill), which he then used to arrest the Communists, who were one of the 2 groups resisting his power (Tea Party/conservatives?).
Hitler then had less resistance to his agenda to get rid of the Reichstag and proposed “The Enabling Act” which would allow Hitler’s own cabinet to make laws without the Reichstag - including even laws that opposed the Constitution. Because it was an unconstitutional law it was basically a Constitutional amendment and required a 2/3 vote (sort of like our Congress requires a 2/3 vote because of the filibuster threat). Hitler got the “centrist” vote by promising the Catholic leader of that group that he would sign an agreement to work with the Vatican - which he never did, but the promise was enough to get the votes he needed in order to grab what would otherwise be unconstitutional powers (Ben Nelson, anybody?)
The socialists were the only people who held out and voted against The Enabling Act. Hitler had the SA all over the place during the vote so the physical threat was intimidating to some.
The Reichstag chose to make themselves irrelevant and give Hitler legal cover to do what he darn well pleased - which he then did. The political opponents in the Reichstag were arrested as “terrorists” before the vote, and the squishy middle was offered vain promises of religious favors, which they swallowed hook, line, and sinker. The “It’s about the economy, stupid” Reichstag members thought it would be smart to consolidate powers because the political gridlock was damaging the economy, which was already hurting from WWI.

It’s scary how easily a country can be overthrown.
The government desperately needs streamlining, made smaller and pruned to the quick;however, this process must not be done by the socialist President we have now.
