UPDATE: Ron Paul told voters today that America's obsession with war is hurting the economy.
Ron Paul is one of the few Republicans who said he agrees with both the Tea Party and Occupy protesters.
The Republican candidate defended both movements at a Q&A session with Patch editors in Concord today.
When asked about Occupy Wall Street, he said it was unfair to dismiss the concerns that are being expressed by the protesters.
He added that, much like the Tea Party, there are always individuals who make the movement look bad.
While he supports public anger towards government and banks, Paul said that we should avoid blaming businessmen who have gained wealth honestly.

I thought America’a obsession was Freedom. . .which in turn ‘can’ cause war. . .and often does; with those who disagree.

Ron Paul is as fake as his eyebrow. He puts in earmarks to legislation he knows must pass and then he votes against them.
Foreign wars really are hurting the economy.
“Foreign wars really are hurting the economy.”
Yep. And “Dr.” Paul is really helping the economy. I know that I would sleep much sounder with “Dr.” Paul in charge.
How could ANYONE, with an IQ over about 2, vote for this fool? Paulbots do not worry me. They scare me.
You would think that NO ONE could be this stupid. But Paulbots continue to prove us wrong....
if we decide to fight every regime that is oppressive and regionally troublesome, we'll be bankrupted and ruined within a generation. It's a shame that Paul is the only candidate who recognizes this common sense principle of national defense that conservatives from George Washington to Robert Taft understood.
And I'm not saying that Paul doesn't go too far in his blaming America statements on 9-11. It's just that when the mainstream abandons common sense only the radicals are left to proclaim it.
Better we abandon this endless war and empire nonsense now before national bankruptcy forces it on us. If that happens, it may cripple us at a time when we're facing a real threat to national survival.
“I thought Americaa obsession was Freedom.”
It is for a few of us. Others, not so much. All one has to do is look at Obama’s poll numbers. He has money, lots of money, and he has people with no money, counting on him to see they get more taxpayer money.
Hollywood is a rap for him. Govt dependents are a rap for him. Socialists are a rap for him. Communists are a rap for him. Unions are a rap for him.
What’s freedom got to do with it? Besides just a few of us hold-ons from the old school. If you haven’t noticed, freedom is an antiquated concept long past it’s time.
Proof is in the pudding.
If the IRS didn’t have swat teams, we might still be sorta free. (see IRS swat raids)
If there weren’t a war on personal private behaviors, we might still be sorta free. (see war on some drugs)
If the BATF weren’t accommodating the Obama administration to take away our right to self defend, we might still be sorta free. (see fast and furious)
If the civilian police depts weren’t accepting military uniforms, and equipment, we might still be sorta free. (seen your local PD lately?)
If we still had private property rights, we might still be sorta free. (see Kelo)
If we didn’t have federal income tax, we might still be sorta free. (see Wilson 1913)
If the POTUS did not have the ability to run roughshod over congress with executive orders, we might still be sorta free. (read them at fed.gov)
If the central banking system, aka the Federal Reserve had never been allowed, we might still be sorta free. (see Wilson 1913)
If posse comitatus was still the rule of law, we might still be sorta free. (See Waco)
If 911 had never occured, resulting in the “Patriot” Act, we might still be sorta free. (read the PA)
I could go on and on...the list is too long. Freedom? Forget about it.
I challenge anyone to challenge the list presented does not limit freedom.
PS The drones are coming to spy on us. That is if they all don’t crash first. But they are are coming. So, remove that patio deck you just built without a permit. NOW!
Actually he is a blame America first libertarian. Still a loser as far as this Libertarian Conservative is concerned.
Glenn Beck must be soooooooo proud.
Careful. You may be accused of being a Jew hating, anti-American kook for making such an outrageous statement.
Rand Paul: Time for GOP to soften war stance...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.[Posted on 01/31/2013 5:08:50 PM PST by xzins]
