Results from an American Research Group poll of likely GOP primary voters in Florida: Newt Gingrich (50 percent), Mitt Romney (19 percent), Herman Cain (10 percent), Jon Huntsman (3 percent), Rick Perry and Ron Paul (2 percent), Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, and Buddy Roemer (1 percent).

Yes, Wow. And even more notable is that Mythter 25% has now morphed into Mythter 19%. The Romney camp must be in a major panic mode. Look for some big time anti-Newt hits coming from Romney via the NYT, WP and all the other usual suspects. They have to do something to help their guy Romney after their take-down of Cain didn't give him quite the boost that they anticipated. LOL.
Thanks for the great news ping. Although not a surprise, I have been noticing an uptick in hit pieces against Newt on Twitter. I am sure the trend will continue. Good news is, it is not impacting the way Newt supporters feel about him, even recent supporters are not being deterred.
I disagree. I watched Newt's hour on Hannity last night, and I was trying to view it from the perspective of an independent voter who is not a political junkie.
Yes, it was Hannity and not Anderson Cooper, but even acknowledging the softballs, I think Newt came across as a very credible and -- dare I say it -- pretty likeable guy. (I know, I know, when he ran the House he was an arrogant and abrasive a-hole who greatly overestimated his political power). But he seems to have absorbed the lessons of that experience with regard to temperament.
I think if I were an average voter who didn't much follow politics, and I were faced with a choice of Obama or Newt, I would have no problem voting for Newt.
Gingrich is the medias choice to run against Zero. They’ll have much dirt to dig with his ex-wives during the general election.
Well, he didn’t have to bring it up last night, now did he. Did Mitt or anyone else bring it up? If he wins - I hope he appoints Rudy as Attorney General - next to the mob, twinkletoes and his commies are a piece of cake. Hey, Joe - order some more pink underwear.

Florida is 2 months away - a lifetime in a party primary cycle. Newt is going to be brought down to Earth, as were the other fads.
It’s real. Based on the current polling, Cain, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, Huntsman, and others should drop out to enable a conservative presidential victory.
Gingrich at 50% means he cannot be defeated in Florida.
At 38% nationally means he won’t be defeated.

This smacks untrue. I've never seen Ron Paul below 8% in a state poll. kind of like I've never seen less than 10% of a bag of tortilla chips that are broken.

No, that has been Romney all along and they have been holding fire until Mittens was assured of the nomination. The Dems just put out an ad with Romney as a flip-flopper but are going to have to change their tune now.

Somewhat true, Newt was less than faithful but it is old news. And the old saw about him serving divorce papers on wife #1 on her death bed has been debunked - she's still around. More recently, due to the influence of his third wife and his own study of religion, he slowly has been converted to Catholicism and has produced a book on religion in Amercia and a DVD on the story of how the trip to Poland of Pope John Paul II started the revolution that brought down Communism there and eventually to the Soviet Union.
No, Mitt is their choice because Barry can beat him.

Last night’s Hannity interview of Gingrich. My favorite moment was when he said he’d dismantle about half Obama’s government right after the Inaugural Address, and the first thing he’d sign would be the dismissal of all “czars.”
