Voters are easily manipulated. They see Newt say all the right things without the evidence or the history to back it up. At this point, you could train Hillary Clinton to speak conservative and there’d be some people that would buy that too.

Cain, Bachmann, Santorum. Those are the real conservatives in the race. If you don’t like it, then stage a rally in Wasilla and see if it works.

The article is dead-on accurate.

If you are looking for somone to fix the size of government, who actually believes in what our founders believed in, that is limited-government, you’ll have to look elsewhere than Myth and Newt.

Pretty much peas-in-a-pod.

“How did Newt help to balance the budget before? And what major entitlement did he help to reform? Newt has said he would have voted for Ryan’s budget. Newt supported an individual mandate at the time in OPPOSITION to government run healthcare (Hillary Care), along with Heritage and many other conservatives at the time. Let’s not revise history, shall we?”

...Barry Goldwater once described his political philosophy by saying, “I have little interest in streamlining government or making it more efficient, for I intend to reduce its size.”

...I have no hero's, but I loved Goldwater. Is there anyone that emulates or embraces this philosophy?

maybe Ron Paul deserves another look? I know he is crazy, but he is a small government guy, just saying.

This is why we are doomed. A President Romney won’t want to take an ax to government spending any more than Compassionate Conservative Lyndon Baines Bush did. Both pay lip service to cutting government — Bush outright lied about his intentions to cut government in the 2004 election. Its why the GOP collapsed in 2008. I’d rather have Obama than a government-expanding Republican in the White House and I’m dead serious.

“...Both Gingrich and Romney have long supported more federal involvement and spending in education. Both backed No Child Left Behind. In fact, both endorsed the same strange idea of having the federal government buy a laptop computer for every child in America...”

But its “for the children”. So all libs support taking your money to give somebody else a laptop when what the kids really need is more pencil and paper work and more exercise outside.

Thanks for posting this great article. Michael Tanner had many great statements. One of my favorites is as follows:

” - - - But for those with a yearning for a smaller, more limited, more constitutional government, this election becomes more dismal with each passing day.”

This article is nothing more than a reaffirmation that there are only two republican candidates that can possibly win.

Not buying the propoganda.

Here’s what sucks. With Romney, we will get big government. That’s his record, regardless of his talk. With Newt, we can get good or bad depending on which Newt. However Newt’s record is better than his talk. Those are the two “frontrunners.” There’s also Cain, Bachmann, Ron Paul, Perry, Gary Johnson, and Huntsman.

They all are enamored of the debate performances. They don’t give a crap about their records. LOL
