The Fast and Furious scandal, in which the Justice Department knowingly gave Mexican criminal gangs thousands of guns, just keeps escalating. The latest development centers around whether or not Attorney General Eric Holder lied to Congress about having knowledge of the controversial gun trafficking operation. Recently released documents say Holder was briefed about the operation long before he told the Judiciary Committee he was first aware of what was going on. (Holder now claims he misunderstood the question was being asked.)
What's more, CBS News investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson -- who's been covering the scandal from the beginning -- says in an interview on the Laura Ingraham Show today that the White House and Justice Department have taken to screaming at her for reporting on the story. You can listen to the full interview below, but here are the key excerpts from Attkisson:
In between the yelling that I received from Justice Department yesterday, the spokeswoman--who would not put anything in writing, I was asking for her explanation so there would be clarity and no confusion later over what had been said, she wouldn't put anything in writing--so we talked on the phone and she said things such as the question Holder answered was different than the one he asked. But he phrased it, he said very explicitly, 'I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks.'

“[The White House and Justice Department] will tell you that I’m the only reporter—as they told me—that is not reasonable. They say the Washington Post is reasonable, the LA Times is reasonable, the New York Times is reasonable, I’m the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I’m unfair and biased by pursuing it.”
Sheesh! Doesn’t this woman know about the MSM’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy?
Don’t ask questions, don’t tell the truth.
I just sent this to Drudge and hope he puts it up.
bump for later!
I think I could accomodate the first case for this PBP. :-)
If you were the White House and had Stick and the Wookie makin’ Whoopie inside you, wouldn’t you scream?
Exactly, the “White House” didn’t scream and swear at the reporter,
a specific person in the 0bama administration screamed and swore at her.
Who was it, chickie?
I think Ed Schultz has a sub-penis (an inch more, he’d be a King; an inch less, he’d be a queen).
“Somebody’s headed for a Pulitzer.......”
SILLY CONSERVATIVE...
Don’t you know they only give Pulitzer’s to reporters who destroy REPUBLICANS?
They must have thought her name was Asskissin, not Attkisson...........
Or a park bench.
Yeah, Sharyl Attkisson was with CNN for years, back in the early 1990s. I think she used to host the morning show there before moving over the CBS. She was somewhat less liberal than her colleagues and I always liked her.
do we get to play “watch this, hold muh beer”?
LOL
"Reasonable" apparently means covering up not merely potential White House knowledge of, but actual participation in a series of felonies including murder. That is what the Washington Post, the NY Times, and the LA Times consider "reasonable". Apparently decades-old spraypaint on a rock in Texas is more important than the killing of a Border Patrol officer in Arizona by a firearm that the ATF deliberately placed in criminal hands. Props to CBS, disgust toward the rest.
“Her job is to lick Obama and keep him clean and shinning...”
Do you realize the image you just projected????
Have a heart already. Geeze
Mmmmmm Beer!
In 2009 the Obama administration, in an effort to jump-start anti-gun sentiment and bring about new and 'better' anti-gun legislation, claimed that 90% of all guns confiscated from drug cartels in Mexico originated in the United States, most of them having been obtained from gun stores in States bordering Mexico.
This claim was demonstrably false.
So, since it is well known that Barack Obama is never wrong about anything, persons in his administration set about trying to make the 90% figure true.
[The White House and Justice Department] will tell you that I'm the only reporter--as they told me--that is not reasonable. They say the Washington Post is reasonable, the LA Times is reasonable, the New York Times is reasonable, I'm the only one who thinks this is a story, and they think I'm unfair and biased by pursuing it.
IOW, roll over and play dead, like a good little girl........
I misread that as Ed Schultz, but the comment still applies.
Dont worry, the MSM will likely back off. They love the guy.

But, Congressman Issa and the Pubbies in the House will NOT back off. This thing will come to the point that the media will not be able to ignore it.
