I thought I'd start a running thread, updated daily or whenever I get around to it, highlighting the almost total blackout of news about Fast & Furious by what I always figured was one of the central conservative news clearinghouses: The Drudge Site.
While we can read endlessly there about all manner of tabloid goings on concerning the media and political elite, I have noted only three articles about Fast & Furious since the news began to break many months ago, and all three of those articles were quickly pulled.
When I mentioned on another thread this morning my intention to start a thread such as this, a fellow FReeper posted shortly thereafter that Drudge had posted a link to the latest F&F news. The link presented evidence that ATF agents HAD been buying guns with taxpayer money for distribution directly to cartel members. When I got home this evening and went to look for this posting, it is no longer on Drudge. Other frivolous inanities from several days ago remain on Drudge, but not the more recent blockbuster F&F news. This is the way it also was with the other ephemeral links he's posted before.
I expect the Administration, and the 3-to-5 letter Federal Agencies involved, and the Congress critters on both sides of the aisle, and the MSM, to all participate in the blackout of this horrendous, treasonous act. However, I do not expect it of Drudge.
Messages and suggested links I have sent to his site have been ignored. Perhaps an ongoing tally on FR will spur him to report on something more meaningful than Simon Cowell and Chaz Bono.
Just sent Drudge the links to the Washington Times article about Cain’s statement, as well as the Katie Pavlich article from Townhall.com.
Certainly seem newsworthy, no?
Will we hear news, or crickets from Matt?
BTTT.
Three of those articles concern the subject at hand and one of them was up for only a few hours yesterday. I am not sure about the other two.
I go to Drudge every day and have only seen the one Fox News report he posted for a few hours yesterday.
I have no idea why he is ignoring it unless he decided it is going no where thanks to the incompetent and corrupt Republicans in charge of the investigation.
So far it has just been a couple of Republicans lip flapping and arm waving about “mistakes were made” as they stand by and allow the DOJ to cover up the evidence. It would probably harm Republicans if the public saw their carelessness and incompetence in handling this treason. So it might be just as well no one see them in action.
As dagogo redux said, when he does post it, the lifetime is very short unlike other issues...
It’s about money and eyeballs, not issues.
Ping to you with an update for 9/27/11.
A. This AM, circa 8 AM PST, not much changed on Drudge from the night before. Nothing about F&F.
B. About 2 PM PST, nothing quite as titillating as a semen stained blue dress, but we learn from Drudge about:
1. A two-faced cat.
2. Rihanna disrobing.
3. UNH reversal on energy drink ban.
4. Guitar stolen from a casket.
5. Energy generated from poop.
6. Lesbian Actress booted from plane for kiss.
7. NOTHING about F&F.
C. 8PM PST, the salacious blue dress is still nowhere to be found, and the lesbian actress has completed her two days of Drudge fame, but the other posts above are joined by these stunning revelations:
1. Michael Jackson is still dead.
2. Live sex used for UT frat recruiting.
3. DWS Wardrobe malfunction.
4. An essential Susan Sarandon update.
5. NOTHING about F&F.
Meanwhile, at FR, MestaMachine has pinged 4 new links to F&F news today.
As for the postulation that the length of time a post stays on Drudge depends on the number of hits it gets - if true, it makes a mockery of any journalistic seriousness with which I once regarded Drudge. Straight forward porn would serve those ends better.
I will likely be out of wi-fi range for the next week, and will post updates if I can. Anyone who wants to keep the F&F DrudgeWatch going in similar fashion to the above is welcome to jump right in. Ping MestaMachine when you do update the Watch - he/she’s been kind enough to keep this available through the ping list, and many thanks go out for doing so.
Thanks.
You’re mighty welcome. See you back here soon.

The Gunwalker list is strictly the Gunwalker project.

9/28/11, 6AM PST.
For those who missed the ongoing death of Michael Jackson yesterday, its still news at Drudge, as are the history-changing insights into Rihanna, poop, Susan Sarandon, DWS Nipple Alert, energy drinks un-ban, and UT frat sex. Of course, youll be glad you tuned back in again today in these perilous times, because other news-worthy items reveal:
1. Times square gets film noir makeover.
2. Google dissed for my son Gay app.
3. Andy Rooney finally gone.
4. NADA (thats a little Spanish lingo) about F&F.
Meanwhile at FR MestaMachine pings a link to Grassley saying government sold guns to Underworld, and hes being stonewalled in investigation.
I’ll try to stay connected over the next week when possible, watching the watchers while they watch the paparazzi.

1136 PST Update:
Drudge continues to maintain eternal vigilance on Michael Jacksons condition, and has also been diligent in bringing us worthy news about these aspects of the times that try men’s souls:
1. Brazilian lingerie-clad ad.
2. Botched Boob Job.
3. Mick Jagger essentials.
4. NOT ONE WORD ABOUT F&F.
Meanwhile, 7 (seven) new F&F Pings from FRs MestaMachine, as all hell breaks loose at Forbes, CNN, and elsewhere.
Earlier today I sent the Drudge Boy two sets of relevant F&F links to peruse and consider. No response.
Perhaps if a connection can be made between the drugs Michael Jackson died on, and guns sold by the ATF to the cartel that supplied those drugs to MJ’s doctor . . .
Today at 9:30 AM:
WHouse quietly releases new documents on secret gun-running operation...
Reveal extensive communications between WH and agent in charge...
Let’s see how long they stay up today.
On October third
NOTHING
Got back from the wilderness a day early.
Thanks to MestaMachine for keeping the watch during my absence (and for the great ping list!).
Wow, you just cant get back to the Drudge Report soon enough, can you? I find myself suddenly in need of emergency updating on:
1. The Hank Williams, Jr. tragedy.
2. Knox crying.
3. The post-racial View.
4. Crazy ants.
5. Driverless car stunts.
6. Madonna (yawn).
7. NOT ONE WORD ABOUT FAST & FURIOUS!
8 AM, 10/4/11
A truly exceptional news day on Drudge. The photo of the Material Late-Middle-Aged-Woman is sadly missing, but we find the following vital stories:
1. Two Knox updates.
2. Whole Foods autism run amok.
3. Starbucks idiocy rescues economy.
4. A small, right-column photo of the DOJ seal, with a small, distant bokeh-blurred head of Holder reigns atop what LOOKS to be three new links about F&F: BUT, the links are all to the SAME CBS News article about Holders lying. Three links, one article - way to dig deep Drudge. Thats why hes the professional.
Whatdayathink, folks - should we give him a three-link score for today?
I dont think so.
For those keeping score at home, todays tally for the F&F Ping List, with a related added bonus today from the Border Wars included, is six.
Now there are 6 visible links on Drudge. Has the dam broken?
Republicans call for special counsel to investigate Holder...
‘Either Incompetent’ or ‘Misleading Congress’...
White House screams, swears at reporter for covering scandal...
WHEN DID HE KNOW?
Holder changes story about ATF gun-running op...
Claims misunderstood question from committee...
7 AM PST, 10/5/11
Drudge, bless his heart, has less celebrity nonsense and more actual meat than Ive seen in a while. Perhaps hes waking up to the fact that some serious stuff is going down out there. But still we are treated to the following five to distract from his first serious coverage of F&F, IMOSHO (In My Oh-So-Humble Opinion):
1. Free-market mom selling 1-month-old for pennies on the dollar.
2. Climate change hits Tahoe.
3. Johnny Depp agrees with me, hes overpaid.
4. Simpsons and Sesame Street hit by Obamanomics.
5. Celebrity Michele Obama and her offspring grafting taxpayers for vacations (this is news?).
6. Six (!!!) links about F&F: Three are from one long-lived link I posted about yesterday, the duration perhaps excusing the faked count, and yet three more are from some of the articles we read about at FR yesterday.
Thanks to the eternally vigilant and positively pre-cambrian Texas Fossil, who caught this news last night. Lets see how long the F&F stuff stays posted, and if there is any follow-through from the daily deluge were seeing here. If so, I may sadly have to close this thread . . . .
Thanks for what I consider a compliment.
Drudge started out reporting on celebs. He has also carried the water on some pretty big political events since then.
His celeb content increases when the political news is quiet.
There is some reason that he has been behind the curve on F&F. I am not sure what, but it could be fear.
Some of Obozo’s minions are very dangerous people. What kind of people burned Palin’s church? Chicago thugs? Or committed Marxists?
