I thought I'd start a running thread, updated daily or whenever I get around to it, highlighting the almost total blackout of news about Fast & Furious by what I always figured was one of the central conservative news clearinghouses: The Drudge Site.
While we can read endlessly there about all manner of tabloid goings on concerning the media and political elite, I have noted only three articles about Fast & Furious since the news began to break many months ago, and all three of those articles were quickly pulled.
When I mentioned on another thread this morning my intention to start a thread such as this, a fellow FReeper posted shortly thereafter that Drudge had posted a link to the latest F&F news. The link presented evidence that ATF agents HAD been buying guns with taxpayer money for distribution directly to cartel members. When I got home this evening and went to look for this posting, it is no longer on Drudge. Other frivolous inanities from several days ago remain on Drudge, but not the more recent blockbuster F&F news. This is the way it also was with the other ephemeral links he's posted before.
I expect the Administration, and the 3-to-5 letter Federal Agencies involved, and the Congress critters on both sides of the aisle, and the MSM, to all participate in the blackout of this horrendous, treasonous act. However, I do not expect it of Drudge.
Messages and suggested links I have sent to his site have been ignored. Perhaps an ongoing tally on FR will spur him to report on something more meaningful than Simon Cowell and Chaz Bono.
yeah...you are wrong...druge has covered it...

I think most of the major revelations and stories have shown up on Drudge. Are there any big ones inparticular you think he missed?
As dagogo redux said, when he does post it, the lifetime is very short — unlike other issues...
I've wondered if Drudge doesn't want Americans to become sick of hearing about it. You know, saving it for 2012. This, IMHO, will be the most important thing in the 2012 election. Even if there is no proof Obama knew, it was his administration and he's going to look dirty.
The Republicans may think wasting taxpayer money on things like Solindra will be the end of 0. I don't think so. Half of Americans don't pay taxes, most are Obama supporters. They don't care if 0 is giving our money away, they're getting their cut. Most of them do, however, have children. Does Obama think Hispanics are going to vote for him when they find out he sent guns to Mexico, and other Latin American countries, to kill Latino children? I don't think so.
This is where the words, "you have no heart", should be used. No one who values the lives of others would/could do something like this. Oh, I'm sure they'll play the old, "out of the loop", BS. When Obama denies knowing, and you can bet he will, that clip should be used with a clip of him playing golf and the question, "Why didn't you know? Were you to busy? But, this issue and those words will never be used if Republicans don't nominate a fighter. We, for sure, CAN NOT afford someone like McCain, who's afraid of offending anyone.
I check in at Drudge every morning. I’ve seen only three links regarding F&F. If others were posted, they were exceedingly short lived, as was the one absent early this morning and gone by nightfall.
I’m also on the MestaMachine’s great ping list for F&F here on FR - I get 3-5 pings a day on F&F. Many of the threads here at FR are redundant, I’ll admit, but at least a major new development comes out every few days. Given the magnitude of the revelations, even the most trivial outweigh 90% of the postings on Drudge these days.
David Codrea’s, “A Journalist’s Guide to ‘Project Gunwalker’ “ is chock full of coverage going back many months and continuing to pick up pace, and is in addition to the many other sources starting to at last take notice.
I suppose anyone satisfied with Drudge’s coverage would be satisfied with no coverage at all. Nothing to see here - move along.

Drudge is heavy on the Lady GagGag and other Hollyweird crap these days. We can only hope he’s waiting until the SHTF on F&F in the spring, when it will really matter. But if it’s too soon, it might spook Barry into dropping out, and we’ll be running against She Who Shall Not Be Named.
“Was” is the operant word. Posted shortly after I left for work this AM, gone by the time I got home. I never saw it.
A shorter life, if I’m not mistaken, than the Lady Gaga story.
I’m gonna keep at this vigil over time until Drudge’s future actions prove me wrong. I’d LIKE him to prove me wrong.
Greata had a Great piece on it this evening in an interview with Senator Grasley(sp?)
Well, we need to go there and ask him why, all of us.
It seems that you are ignoring Fast & Furious. Why??? You have run few headlines about it and when you do it is just for a short time. You know that this is one of the biggest stories of the century so far. I hope you realize what this story means to all those effected by it, to our Country and what it's implications are. You haven't been bought off or something, have you? I expect much better coverage than this from you. Stop dinking around with all the movie star garbage and do your duty as a cutting line news service. Sincerely, XXXX
What is “banglist”?
Most of Drudge’s articles seem to hang around for a week these days. It would be odd if something lasted less than a day. I wonder what’s behind it.
“it might spook Barry into dropping out, and well be running against She Who Shall Not Be Named.”

cut his strings.
As I have said many times before, it will take an act of God to save America, and he is not talking.
Instapundit always has the latest news on the gun scandals.
Thanks, all, for the replies, even the dissenters.
Nothing on Drudge about F&F today, at this moment. Same stuff - with a few replacements - as last night.
Several have mentioned on this thread, and I’ve heard it before, that Drudge, other conservative news sources, GOP Congress critters, and other such supposed patriots are purposefully playing this down to postpone the bombshell effect until a more strategic time in the election cycle.
While I understand this possible reckoning coming from politicians, journalists - to the mind of this probably naive boy - ought to concern themselves with news, the investigation and the reporting of news. History writers can tell the story when all the facts are in. Propagandists can select and slant the facts. But news folks like Drudge need to follow the events as they come to light. Just seems to me.
