According to the survey, which was released Monday, 28 percent of Republicans and independents who lean towards the GOP say they support Perry as their party's presidential nominee, with Romney at 21 percent. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is at ten percent, with Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, who's making his third bid for the White House, former Godfather's Pizza CEO and radio talk show host Herman Cain, and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, all at seven percent. The poll indicates that Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is at four percent, with former Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania at three percent and former Utah Gov. and ambassador to China Jon Huntsman at one percent.

What’s so impressive? How can one compare a sitting governor and has been for years - against someone who has never held political office? They are attacking Perry on policy - Cain has none - he’s done nothing! Other than he’s against our rights - he agreed w/Barry and said Americans citizen should not see the bin laden photos; however the elected officials can. Up yours, Cain. No matter what you say in your speeches, you are big gov’t. Typical politician - say one thing and do another.

That still isn’t as accurate as LIKELY voters. You’d have to know what the percentage of registered Republicans will actually vote. I’m NOT saying Perry isn’t on top of that poll either, just that this isn’t an accurate poll. Many people who will vote aren’t even engaged yet. Please note (I feel like I have to say this around here now): I’m NOT disparaging Perry, he may well be at the top of the “likely” voter polls, heck he could even have a higher percentage than he does of “registered” voters.

Is it possible that the illegal spawn get loans from the state of Texas or fedzilla?A loan is a loan. It will be paid back with interest, just as I'm paying back my student loans.
I suggest you move to Texas, if you are already not here, run for office, and try and convince the Legislature to change the law. Texans seem to think they know what's better for Texas than some washed up ex-senator in DC does.

Firmer. Yes. Perhaps in the next debate he’ll call us heartless racists whilst pizzing on a portrait of Reagan and burning Old Glory.

He wasn’t on the national scene then. I live in OR, believe me, my state in NO way represents the views of the country on illegals. It’s up to Texans to decide what’s right for their state. It may not play well on the national scene. I admire him sticking to his guns, I just don’t care to be called “heartless” for sticking to mine. That was a huge faux pas for me. And I’d also like the understand why, during the election he promised his state if they reelected him he would not run for president and then turned around and did it. Palin has given her reason for quitting. People may not buy and and may still think it was wrong and harmed her chances but at least she gave it.

So we shouldn’t stick to our principles? The left will say anything to get their way...the ends justify the means. That’s what got 0bama elected. The country sees that now as he’s done the opposite of almost all of what he said when campaigning. Sorry, but I have Mexican family members who did things the right way. This is a slap in the face to them.
However, I will say Perry sticking to his principles shows he has a backbone.

Later in the week, as the results of other scientifically conducted polls polls come out, we will learned what the majority of average voters in America think after the last debate rather than only know what the political junkies at one meeting on Florida thought after the last debate. ..... PolybiusOK but who shows up to vote in primaries? ..... ari-freedom
Well, let's check that out:
=========================
Florida Republican primary, 2008
John McCain ("RINO"): 701,761 votes
Mitt Romney ("RINO"): 604,932 votes
Rudy Giuliani ("RINO"): 286,089 votes
Mike Huckabee ("RINO"): 262,681 votes
Ron Paul (Kook): 62,887 votes
Fred Thompson ("Conservative"): 22,668 votes
Alan Keyes ("Conservative"): 4,060 votes
Duncan Hunter ("Conservative"): 2,847 votes
Tom Tancredo ("Conservative"): 1,573 votes
=========================
Let me whip out my calculator here ..... Add, add, add ....
Okay, ready.
"Who showed up to vote in the Florida Republican Primary in 2008?"
1,855,463 RINO's
62,887 Kooks
37,148 "True Conservatives"
So, ari-freedom, at least in Florida, FIFTY TIMES MORE RINO's THAN "TRUE CONSERVATIVES" show up to vote at the primaries.
That is the danger of ripping apart any candidate that is "just not Consevatively Pure" enough. Perry is FAR more conservative a candidate than the large majority of average American voters in the 21st Century ever vote for.
If Perry is destroyed, the next President of the United States will be either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama.

Why is McCain considered a RINO? Because he was also soft on illegals and insulted those who disagreed with him. Otherwise, he was pretty conservative.

ROFLMAO--what would you call Perry's title as he jetted Al Gore's merry men around Texas during the campaign? You are wasting credibility at this juncture.
Rick Perry was a disaster in Florida. All he can do is hope to paint over his old liberal stripes.
