He wasn’t on the national scene then. I live in OR, believe me, my state in NO way represents the views of the country on illegals. It’s up to Texans to decide what’s right for their state. It may not play well on the national scene. I admire him sticking to his guns, I just don’t care to be called “heartless” for sticking to mine. That was a huge faux pas for me. And I’d also like the understand why, during the election he promised his state if they reelected him he would not run for president and then turned around and did it. Palin has given her reason for quitting. People may not buy and and may still think it was wrong and harmed her chances but at least she gave it.

He did say he wasn’t going to run and did finish the last legislative session/special session before deciding.

His Wife is actually the one who convinced him to run saying, “it’s time to get out of your comfort zone”
